NFL fans reacted strongly after Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a left wrist injury during the game against the Cincinnati Bengals. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Rodgers’ injury forced the Steelers to replace him with Mason Rudolph.
The news sparked a wave of reactions from fans, many of whom mocked the four-time MVP and former Green Bay Packers and New York Jets star, pointing to his age and the physical toll his body is enduring.
“Damn, age is being notorious now,” one fan remarked.
Another added a blunt message: “Retire please.”
Some fans also commented on how Rodgers’ injury at age 41 is a natural part of aging in professional sports.
“Aaron Rodgers getting hurt at 41 is normal human biology. Brady ruined the curve,” one post read, referencing Tom Brady’s lengthy career.
Others suggested that Rodgers should listen to his body and speculated that this setback might accelerate the Steelers’ plans to start rookie quarterback Will Howard.
One fan wrote,
“We’re getting closer to Will Howard. Yessssss. This is what’s going to happen — Rodgers broke his wrist and he’ll be out for the season. Critics were also quick to label Rodgers as “washed up,” suggesting the Steelers should have relied on a younger player instead of betting on his ego.

Adding a broader perspective on veteran quarterbacks’ longevity, one fan commented,
“Tough one, and I GET it, he’s Aaron Rodgers, but at some point, you just gotta listen to what the universe is telling you. How many seasons have to end with injury before we admit what Tom did isn’t a blueprint for success?”
Before his injury, Rodgers had completed 9 of 15 passes for 116 yards and one touchdown. He also contributed one rush for an 8-yard gain.
