Quarterback Cardell Williams opened the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run a little more than two minutes into the game for Sacramento State (4-4, 2-2), which finished with 376 yards rushing and averaged 6. 7 yards per carry. Hammond raced 59 yards to the end zone to give the Hornets a 14-10 lead with about five minutes left in the first quarter. Eastern Washington’s Nate Bell left the game early in the second quarter due to an apparent shoulder injury and finished 6-of-14 passing for 39 yards. Jake Schakel replaced Bell and went 24 of 38 for 201 yards.
