Iraqis voted in a parliamentary election yesterday marked by tight security and a boycott by a major political bloc. This election comes following major shifts in the region over the past two years including the weakening of Iran’s influence, after the wars in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the fall of Syrian President Bashar Assad last December.
