Cabinet okays 57 new KVs, over 86,000 students to benefit across India

The Union Cabinet has approved the establishment of 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), which will benefit over 86,000 students across the country. This significant move aims to enhance access to quality education nationwide.

These new KVs are sponsored by the state governments along with the Home Ministry, ensuring strong institutional support. Importantly, the schools will include Balvatikas as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 reforms, focusing on early childhood education.

The new Kendriya Vidyalayas will be strategically located in aspirational districts, Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas, the North Eastern Region (NER), and hilly districts. This targeted approach aims to bridge educational gaps in underserved and remote regions.

In addition to expanding educational infrastructure, the initiative will generate 4,617 permanent jobs, contributing to employment growth alongside educational development.

Overall, the approval of these 57 KVs marks a major step forward in improving education accessibility and quality for thousands of students across India.
