A video has been surfacing online featuring Pune-based gangster Nilesh Ghaywal threatening a businessman from Dharashiv district. This development follows Ghaywal’s escape to London and allegedly to Switzerland amid allegations of police inaction.
In the video, Dinesh, a businessman from Dharashiv, is seen speaking to Ghaywal over a WhatsApp call. During the conversation, Ghaywal appears visibly irked after Dinesh involves MLA Tanaji Sawant. Subsequently, Ghaywal asks Dinesh to visit his residence, abuses him, and threatens to shut down his business operations in Pune.
The incident comes in the wake of the Kothrud firing on September 17, after which the Pune Police invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against Nilesh Ghaywal and his eight aides. Following this, Ghaywal fled to London. A Look Out Circular (LOC) has been issued against him, and authorities are investigating how he managed to obtain a passport despite having numerous criminal cases registered against him.
According to police records, Ghaywal was an ardent follower of gangster Gajanan “Gaja” Marne in the early 2000s, and the two operated together between 2000 and 2003. The duo was involved in the killing of a criminal, for which they served seven years in prison.
After their release, a dispute arose between Ghaywal and Marne over finances and dominance. The two parted ways and began strengthening their own separate gangs.
The ongoing investigation and developments around Nilesh Ghaywal’s activities and escape continue to draw attention from law enforcement agencies and the public alike.
