WWE Superstar Ricky Saints (formerly known as Ricky Starks) recently took to social media to share an emotional message with his fans. The 35-year-old is currently a champion in the Stamford-based promotion and is quickly becoming a popular name in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
At the NXT No Mercy event, Ricky Saints defeated Oba Femi to capture the NXT Championship, marking a significant milestone in his career. However, just days after this big win, Saints faced a tough loss in a major match.
Saints teamed up with Je’Von Evans, Myles Borne, and Trick Williams to represent WWE’s black and silver brand against TNA Wrestling’s Frankie Kazarian, Leon Slater, Mike Santana, and Moose at the NXT vs. TNA Showdown. Both teams delivered an incredible performance inside the ring, but the bout ultimately ended in favor of Kazarian’s team, resulting in a loss for WWE.
Following these events, Ricky Saints took to Instagram to celebrate a personal milestone. In his post, the 35-year-old revealed that he wrestled his first match fourteen years ago. Reflecting on his journey, Saints shared that despite the highs and lows, he wouldn’t change a thing.
He wrote:
_”I’m a day early, but I had my first match 14 years ago and I’ve never looked back. Thus far, I’ve had an incredible journey with high highs and some low lows, and I wouldn’t change anything. I am who I am because I kept going. May I be blessed to continue for some other odd years. I continue to be the wrestler and man 7-year-old me would enjoy (He loves the pose, prolly). Take every picture and know we all eventually will have to eat sh*t sometime, just make the most of it. It’ll make for a great story over a glass of tequila, I promise #Absolute.”_

In addition to his fans, notable WWE figures have shown support for Saints’ accomplishments. After Ricky Saints captured the NXT Championship by defeating Oba Femi, Cody Rhodes took to X/Twitter to send a congratulatory message. The American Nightmare hyped up Saints’ victory with a simple yet powerful two-word message: “Champ Rick.”
Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see what WWE legend Shawn Michaels has planned for Ricky Saints’ future on WWE’s developmental brand, NXT. With his growing popularity and recent successes, Saints is undoubtedly a star to watch in the coming months.
