Cowboys Make Feelings Clear on Impending Trade After Loss to Cardinals

The Dallas Cowboys are planning to make a trade on Tuesday despite their Monday night loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The Cowboys disappointed their home crowd, falling 27-17 to Arizona. The defense gave up big plays, and the offense failed to capitalize on opportunities, allowing the Cardinals to snap a five-game losing skid with the win.

Earlier on Monday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones revealed that the team had already agreed to a trade but did not disclose any details. “A lot of action going on right now in terms of trading,” Jones said on *The Stephen A. Smith Show* on SiriusXM Radio. “We certainly have made a trade, and we may make a couple more trades before that deadline. We’ve made one. We possibly could make two more, and I’m going to wait and let you read about that when we send the papers in tomorrow.”

However, after the game, Jones appeared to backtrack slightly, stating that no trade was currently in place. Despite the team’s disappointing 3-5-1 record, the 83-year-old owner expressed that he was still “leaning” towards making a deal happen.

“There is no trade right now, but there is one I can do. Without question, there is one I can do. And I’m leaning toward doing it,” Jones said. “It wasn’t dependent on this outcome. What I said, absolutely we do. We’ll see how tomorrow goes. Today was all about tomorrow. You shouldn’t do anything. You should wait and see what we do tomorrow.”

Jones also commented on the state of the team, adding, “I like our nuts and bolts. I don’t like what’s happening to our nuts and bolts, though.”

### Aikman: Cowboys Should Cancel Trade

The potential trade would likely address some of the Cowboys’ defensive struggles. However, the unit has been so inconsistent that acquiring a single impact player may not be enough to turn things around.

Cowboys legend Troy Aikman, who was part of the Monday Night Football broadcast, expressed skepticism about any trade. “I think I would cancel that trade,” Aikman said as the Cowboys were getting carved up in the first half. “I don’t think one player, from what I’ve seen tonight, is gonna make a difference for this group.”

Dallas’ defense gave up 340 yards and 27 points to the Cardinals, who were playing with backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett. The defense came alive late in the game, registering five sacks as the Cowboys attempted a comeback. Before Monday night, the Cowboys had recorded just 15 sacks as a team.

### Cowboys May Consider Coaching Shake-up During Bye Week

Looking ahead, the Cowboys will use their upcoming bye week to evaluate both their roster and coaching staff. Defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus is reportedly under pressure as the defense continues to struggle.

Owner Jerry Jones did not rule out potential changes but stopped short of confirming any moves. “I’m not commenting on what type of adjustments that may be made. We made adjustments last week. But I’m just saying, you saw making those adjustments, and this week, we made adjustments for this week,” Jones explained. “I’m sure there’ll be some adjustments this coming week, but the nature of them, whether it’s on personnel, whether it’s offense, defense I’m not pinpointing tonight at all.”

As the Cowboys regroup during their bye, fans will be watching closely to see what moves and adjustments the team makes to turn the season around.
