Patriots’ Stefon Diggs Gets Big Personal Announcement Amid Week 11

On Thursday, Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs delivered one of his best performances of the season, marking his third 100-yard game this year. He caught nine of the 11 passes thrown his way (likely dropping a 10th) for a total of 105 yards. With this outing, Diggs now has 659 yards receiving on 59 catches for the season.

This production is significant, especially for a player who signed a much-criticized three-year, $69 million contract with the Patriots during the offseason. Notably, Diggs was not even New England’s first choice to lead its wide receiver group. Coming off ACL surgery at age 31, many expected him to take a step backward. Instead, Pro Football Focus ranks him as the No. 9 receiver in the NFL.

While Diggs was making his presence felt on the field in Foxborough during the Patriots’ 27-14 win over the Jets—the team’s eighth straight victory—he was also celebrating an important personal milestone off the field. Diggs and his partner, musician Cardi B, welcomed a baby boy.

### Stefon Diggs Has Not Mentioned Baby

Diggs himself has remained quiet about the birth, and the exact timing remains unclear, though the baby was likely born before the recent Patriots game. Diggs has yet to comment publicly, but Cardi B made the announcement on Instagram. She wrote:

> “A new baby into my world, and one more reason to be the best version of me, one more reason to love me more than anything else or anyone else so I can continue giving my babies the love and life they deserve. This next chapter is Me vs. Me! It’s me against all odds me against everything meant to get in my way. I’ve started prepping for tour getting my body right getting my mind right.”

This marks Cardi B’s fourth child and her first with Diggs.

### Patriots Will Attract Veterans Going Forward

Diggs’ career resurgence makes him a prime example for veterans considering signing with the Patriots moving forward. New England struggled to attract players during recent seasons, enduring an 8-26 record over two years and having to overspend on players like Diggs, Milton Williams, and Carlton Davis to bring them to Foxborough.

That trend is expected to change. Coach Mike Vrabel has established a strong program that players want to join, and second-year quarterback Drake Maye is proving to be a signal-caller who elevates those around him.

### Patriots Culture Changing Around Stefon Diggs

As a father and an experienced NFL veteran, Diggs has naturally taken on a leadership role for the younger players on the Patriots roster. He is known for his motivational pregame speeches and for keeping the team focused in the locker room, even amid a winning streak.

When asked about the experience of being on the winning streak, Diggs downplayed the hype, reminding everyone that the team was once 1-2 earlier in the season.

> “You’ve got to tell me. We just take it each week, one week at a time. Y’all got a different vantage point than what we’re seeing,” Diggs said. “But being a part of it is definitely special. It’s fun. You know what I’m saying? It’s exciting. People kind of count us out a little bit during the beginning of the year when things weren’t going right, but it’s easy to do that. So, for us, just keeping that mindset of being hungry, being humble, and when things are going right, just keep trying to duplicate that process. We’ll replicate that process to generate wins.”

With his strong on-field performance, leadership qualities, and positive influence on the Patriots’ culture, Stefon Diggs continues to be a key figure in New England’s ongoing success.
