1976 Ford Bronco 302 3-Speed

This 1976 Ford Bronco was purchased by the current owner in 2008 in a non-running state, having reportedly been off the road for approximately 10 years prior. In 2021, the owner commissioned a comprehensive mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment, which was completed by the seller.

The chassis was fully stripped, cleaned, and rust repairs were meticulously performed. Following this, the inner tub was seam-sealed, and a replacement passenger door, fenders, and windshield frame were installed. The body was then repainted in House of Kolor Eclipse Orange with a pearlescent additive, giving it a vibrant and eye-catching finish. The removable hardtop was stripped and repainted in Oxford White, with new replacement glass seals fitted.

Additional exterior enhancements include polyurethane fender flares with color-coordinating finish and stainless steel hardware. Replacement components such as the front bumper, grille, side markers, headlights, mirrors, door handles, and windshield were also installed. The Bronco rolls on 15″ aluminum wheels fitted with 33×12.50″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires.

Suspension upgrades consist of Tom’s Bronco Parts long-travel springs, which add 2.5″ of lift, enhancing both ride height and off-road capability. Power steering and locking front hubs have been included for improved driving comfort and control. Braking is managed by front disc brakes and rear drums, with replaced brake lines and a new proportioning valve ensuring reliable stopping power.

Inside, the cabin was stripped down for restoration. Floor pans were replaced, and a black bed liner material was applied to the floors for durability. The seats were rebuilt with replacement frames and foam, then reupholstered in Parchment vinyl. Matching trim pieces—including a replacement headliner, door panels, and center console—complement the interior’s refreshed aesthetic.

The white-painted dashboard and gauge cluster were refurbished to their original condition. Instrumentation features a 100-mph speedometer, surrounded by gauges monitoring amperage, fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer currently reads 75,000 miles.

Power comes from a refreshed 302ci V8 engine that was resealed during the refurbishment. Modern upgrades include a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system, a Holley electronic ignition, a Painless wiring harness, and a Stroppe Performance exhaust system. The fuel tank, fuel lines, water pump, distributor, fan, and various belts and hoses were also replaced to ensure reliability.

The drivetrain sends power to the rear wheels or all four wheels via a three-speed manual transmission coupled with a dual-range transfer case. The front axle was rebuilt, U-joints replaced, and the transmission, transfer case, and rear axle resealed as part of the build.
