Coinidol.com: TON Continues Its Steady Decline to $1.17

Toncoin (TON) has recently dropped to $1.82, falling twice below its previous support level of $2.00. This breach signals a bearish outlook in the long-term forecast for Toncoin.

Prior to this decline, the cryptocurrency was trading within a range above the $2.00 support level. Currently, the price is fluctuating between the $1.80 support and the moving average lines. Bears are aiming to break below the $1.80 support level to push the price further down to $1.17 and potentially as low as $0.70.

On October 10, the negative trend saw Toncoin fall below the $1.17 low, reaching $0.70. However, buyers stepped in to purchase the dips, preventing a further freefall. At the time of writing, TON is trading around $1.83.

### Toncoin Indicator Analysis

Toncoin is now trading near the bottom of its chart range. The presence of long candlestick tails at the bottom suggests significant buying pressure from investors. Additionally, Doji candlesticks are dominating the recent price action, indicating indecision in the market and keeping the price within a tight range.

### What’s Next for Toncoin?

TON recently fell to a low of $1.79 but has managed to hold just above the critical $1.80 support level. Its upward momentum has stalled below the $1.85 resistance high and appears to be trending downwards once more.

If the bears succeed in breaking the $1.80 support, it is likely that TON will resume its decline. For now, the cryptocurrency is oscillating above this support, and its next move will depend on whether buyers can maintain this level or if sellers will push the price lower.

Traders and investors should watch the $1.80 support closely to gauge Toncoin’s near-term direction.

Mount Gibson Iron Limited (MTGRY) Shareholder/Analyst Call Transcript

**Brett Smith’s Address at Mount Gibson’s 2025 Annual General Meeting**

Good morning, everyone. Welcome to Mount Gibson’s 2025 Annual General Meeting. My name is Brett Smith, and I’m the Chairman — the new Chairman — of the company. I’m pleased to welcome you all to this meeting.

This year, we have elected to hold the AGM as a hybrid event. This format enables shareholders who cannot attend in person to dial in via the Compuserve platform, ensuring wider participation.

Firstly, I’d like to introduce my fellow non-executive directors. Simon, please put your hand up, mate. Thank you.

For your reference, a copy of our 2024 Annual General Meeting minutes is available for inspection at the entrance of the room. Please feel free to grab one as you arrive.

Moving on to Slide 2, I’ve been advised that we have a quorum, and therefore, I formally declare the meeting open.

I will begin with my Chairman’s address, followed by the formal business proceedings, and then our CEO will deliver his address. Afterward, all shareholders are invited to ask any questions they may have. We will conclude with tea and coffee, where everyone is welcome to join us for informal discussions.

As I mentioned, I’m Brett Smith, the new Chairman, and I’m glad to have the opportunity to speak to you all for the first time in this role.

I must address a recent incident at Koolan Island which has impacted what we had originally planned to share with you today. There was a significant rockfall, which has necessitated the suspension of mining operations in the Main Pit due to safety concerns.

On a more personal note, this incident brings to mind a story from my past. Many years ago, when I was an engineer at Mt Isa, I was involved in a shutdown of the lead smelter. During that time, a load separated and fell, tragically causing a fatality. This experience has deeply influenced my commitment to workplace safety, which remains our utmost priority.

Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to a productive meeting.

Microsoft solves 2 Windows problems that plagued it for years

After years of frustration, Windows has quickly addressed two significant issues that have long annoyed users. One problem seemed to be a bug, while the other was maddeningly tedious. However, within a month, Microsoft introduced two key updates to its Windows operating system that finally resolve these issues for users worldwide.

These improvements are just two of many recent enhancements; Microsoft has also upgraded the Start menu, among other features.

### Say Goodbye to a Drained Laptop Battery

Windows appears to have fixed a bug where the “Update and shut down” feature didn’t actually shut down the computer. Instead, it restarted the device, which could lead to a drained battery when users thought their laptops were turned off.

The “Update and shut down” bug was so persistent and widespread that it even became the subject of memes. Thankfully, the madness came to an end late last month with an October 28 update from Microsoft. The update plainly states the fix:

> **Improved:** Addressed underlying issue which can cause “Update and shutdown” to not actually shut down your PC after updating.

This fix means users can now trust that their laptops will fully power down after updates, preventing unexpected battery drain.

### Windows Now Makes It Easy to Add Em Dashes — Writers, Rejoice!

The other fix is great news for writers fond of the em dash (—). In the past, inserting an em dash required the tedious ALT + 0151 keyboard shortcut. For those who regularly switch between a MacBook and a Windows machine, this was a particularly annoying inconsistency.

If your keyboard lacked a numeric keypad, the task was even more difficult. Many users resorted to copying and pasting the em dash from a text file or using imperfect plugins and workarounds.

Now, Windows offers a simple way to insert en dashes and em dashes while typing:

– Press **Windows logo key + Minus (-)** to insert an en dash (–)
– Press **Windows logo key + Shift + Minus (-)** to insert an em dash (—)

Note: If the Magnifier tool is running, pressing Windows logo key + hyphen (-) will zoom out Magnifier instead of inserting an en dash.

### Justice for the Em Dash?

This change could help restore the reputation of the em dash.

With the explosive rise of ChatGPT and other AI writing tools in recent years, one telltale sign that someone might be using a chatbot to generate text was the frequent use of em dashes. Writers abhorred this stereotype because phrases set off by em dashes add rhythm and voice to news articles.

Since ChatGPT is trained on millions of news articles, em dashes naturally appeared often in AI-generated content. This association unfairly gave the em dash a bad reputation, as if their presence in a text was a signal that the writer was cheating.

With Microsoft’s long-overdue update making em dashes easier to use, they may start appearing more frequently in human-written copy. As this punctuation mark becomes more common in everyday writing again, the stigma surrounding it could fade. This change might rightfully restore justice for the em dash.

### Are More Windows Fixes on the Way?

Microsoft officially ended support for Windows 10 last month. Users who have been holding out on switching to Windows 11 might see these updates—and more to come—as a sign that Microsoft is committed to making its operating system more user-friendly.

These improvements aim not only at attracting new users but also at pleasing power users who have been frustrated for years by Windows quirks.

Stay tuned for more updates as Microsoft continues to refine Windows for all users.

GM blames EV challenges for 1,700 employee layoff in Michigan and Ohio

The electric vehicle industry has faced challenges since the government’s tax credit for new buyers was eliminated under the Trump administration. Manufacturers have responded in various ways, and now, one major player is reducing its workforce significantly.

General Motors has confirmed that it laid off over 1,700 employees across its Michigan and Ohio locations due to a slowing EV market. In a statement to CNBC, GM detailed that 1,200 of the affected employees were from its Detroit EV plant, while another 550 were from the Ultium Cells plant in Ohio.

In addition to these permanent layoffs, there were also 1,550 temporary layoffs between the Ohio plant and a facility in Tennessee.

The company emphasized that these workforce reductions are a direct response to shifts in the EV market. “In response to slower near-term EV adoption and an evolving regulatory environment, General Motors is realigning EV capacity,” the statement said.

Despite these changes, GM reaffirmed its commitment to manufacturing in the U.S. “We believe our investments and dedication to flexible operations will make GM more resilient and capable of leading through change,” the company added.

As the EV landscape continues to evolve, GM’s actions highlight the ongoing adjustments automakers must make to navigate market and regulatory shifts.

**Apple Shares Rise Amid Wall Street Praise and Strong iPhone 17 Sales Data**

*October 20, 2025 – 8:15 AM ET*

Apple Inc. shares rose 1.5% in premarket trading on Monday following positive news from Wall Street investment firms and encouraging iPhone 17 sales data reported by Counterpoint Research.

Loop Capital analyst Ananda Baruah upgraded Apple’s rating from Hold to Buy, citing strong demand for the new iPhone 17 series. According to Counterpoint Research, the iPhone 17 has outsold the iPhone 16 by 14% during its first 10 days in both the U.S. and China.

The base model of the iPhone 17 is driving significant sales gains, particularly in China. Meanwhile, carrier subsidies in the U.S. have made the Pro Max model more accessible to customers, boosting its sales and reinforcing premiumization trends within the Apple ecosystem.

This upbeat data and analyst optimism have contributed to Apple’s positive momentum in the market.

Australia jobless rate rises to 4.5% in Sept; employment growth misses estimates

**Australia Jobless Rate Rises to 4.5% in September; Employment Growth Misses Estimates**

Australia’s job market showed significant weakness in September 2025. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate climbed to 4.5%, surpassing both the prior month’s revised figure and the expected consensus of 4.3%. This marks the highest jobless rate since November 2021.

The disappointing rise in unemployment highlights growing challenges within the labor sector, as employment growth failed to meet economists’ estimates for the month.
