The race for New York City mayor has tightened considerably, with former Governor Andrew Cuomo cutting front-runner Zohran Mamdani’s lead in half compared to a month ago, according to a new poll.

Mamdani, the Democratic nominee, now leads Cuomo, who is running as an independent, by just 44% to 34% among likely Big Apple voters, a Suffolk University survey found. Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa remains in third place with 11% support.

This marks a significant shift since Suffolk University’s prior poll conducted in September, where Mamdani held a commanding 20-point lead over Cuomo.

The poll is Suffolk’s first since Mayor Eric Adams completely dropped his re-election bid and endorsed Cuomo. Since then, Cuomo’s numbers have improved notably. He is now running roughly even among Hispanic voters after trailing Mamdani by 30 points in that demographic last month. Additionally, Cuomo leads among independents by 10 points, a dramatic reversal from September when he trailed Mamdani by 18 points among non-party-affiliated voters.

Seven percent of voters remain undecided, while the four other candidates on the ballot collectively garner 2% support.

Curtis Sliwa continues to be a significant factor in the race. He and Cuomo appear to be splitting the anti-Mamdani vote, making it more challenging to defeat the Democratic Socialist Queens assemblyman. According to the poll, many of Sliwa’s supporters would back Cuomo if Sliwa were not in the race.

“There is one person in New York City whose voters could have an outsized impact on the outcome,” said David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center. “That person isn’t Mayor Eric Adams, Representative Hakeem Jeffries, Senator Chuck Schumer, or any New York billionaire. It’s Republican Curtis Sliwa, whose voters hold the 11% blocking Cuomo from winning the race,” he added.

This announcement came more than two weeks after Trump said he planned to target Chicago due to its crime rates. In response, Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson warned residents about potential immigration sweeps.

“Let’s be clear, the terror and cruelty is the point, not the safety of anyone living here,” Pritzker said on September 2.

As far as I know, CFB 26 doesn’t offer a “play from current week” option, where you can start Dynasty mode with the current season’s team records and game results in place. To create an accurate snapshot of the college football world, I had to do some legwork.

I started a new Dynasty Mode with a random team (Miami of Ohio, in case anyone’s curious) and turned on automatic simulation for everything—recruiting, player progression, coaching upgrades, and more. Then, I systematically went through each Power 5 team’s schedule, referencing real-world results from Google, and forced wins or losses in-game to match the actual season outcomes.

For example, I forced Indiana’s wins and losses through the current week to align with their real record. I only did this detailed workaround for Power Five teams and a handful of the top Group of Five programs, so it didn’t take nearly as long as I initially thought.

To ensure the simulation mirrored real-life coaching changes, I also manipulated certain teams’ performances—such as forcing Penn State to go 0-8 in their first eight games to guarantee James Franklin’s firing. I did the same for other fired coaches, except for Brian Kelly and LSU, since his firing had not been announced at the time of this experiment. Consequently, in my simulation, LSU retained Kelly, which could slightly skew potential coaching moves since Franklin might be a candidate for that job if it opens.

### Penn State’s Head Coach Search

**Top Targets in the Simulation:**
– Shane Beamer, South Carolina
– Matt Campbell, Iowa State
– Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss

Penn State, being one of college football’s premier programs, quickly filled its vacancy by hiring Shane Beamer as the new head coach. Beamer’s team went 7-6 in the simulation season, but he was by far the most sought-after coach on the carousel (though the game might be confusing him with Curt Cignetti!).

This outcome feels unlikely in real life. Beamer is not widely regarded as the top target for Penn State, whereas coaches like Lane Kiffin and Matt Campbell are more realistically in the running. The current consensus points to Curt Cignetti of undefeated Indiana or Matt Rhule—formerly head coach of the Carolina Panthers and Nebraska—as serious candidates.

Penn State also hired Luke Fickell (former Wisconsin head coach) as defensive coordinator and Jason Candle (former Toledo head coach) as offensive coordinator to round out the staff.

Now, Michigan is officially in the open market for a new head coach, competing with Penn State to attract the nation’s top talent.

With both Michigan and Penn State searching, no program is safe from losing coaches to competing offers.

A spokesperson for the Open Society Foundations stated, “We fund a range of civil society organizations that work to deepen civic engagement through peaceful democratic participation, counter discrimination including against Muslim Americans, and advance human rights.” The spokesperson added that the cited grants occurred years before the mayoral race and were unrelated to any campaign activity.

The investigation found that MPower and Emgage are part of a coalition of about 30 ethnic and religious groups, including CAIR Action, the Islamic Circle of North America, the Muslim Action Coalition, and the Bangladeshi American Advocacy Group. Together, these groups have combined annual revenues exceeding $24 million and have mobilized resources, volunteers, and online campaigns to back Mamdani.

Analysts say these networks represent a coordinated political machine that merges progressive socialist movements with Islamist activism. Through campaigns like Emgage’s “Defend and Advance” initiative, the coalition promotes Mamdani alongside other Muslim candidates such as Virginia Lt. Governor candidate Ghazala Hashmi and Dearborn, Michigan, Mayor Abdullah Hammoud.

Emgage’s financial supporters include the Sterling Charitable Gift Fund in Herndon, Virginia — a group previously investigated by federal authorities in connection with suspected funding of Hamas-linked entities in the early 2000s, though no charges were ever filed.

Over the past decade, Sarsour and her allies have built a nationwide infrastructure linking philanthropy, activism, and political organizing. Their financial backing has come from large foundations such as the Ford Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation, and the Tides Foundation, alongside Soros’ network. This structure has helped launch Mamdani’s political career by combining nonprofit outreach with campaign operations.

Dalia Al-Aqidi, an Iraqi American Muslim and Republican congressional candidate challenging Ilhan Omar in Minnesota, commented, “The data, the money trail, and the affiliations—from the Democratic Socialists of America to the Islamists—tell a different story.” She added, “Mamdani’s ascent is the product of deliberate design: a sophisticated collaboration between socialist activism and Islamist organizing, lubricated by millions in foundation grants and political donations.”

Mamdani’s activism began at Bowdoin College in Maine, where in 2012 he co-founded a chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine. By 2017, he was working on El-Yateem’s campaign with Sarsour. In 2018, he joined the board of the Muslim Democratic Club of New York, a political organization co-founded by Sarsour to mobilize Muslim voters for progressive candidates. The group endorsed Mamdani during his 2020 campaign for the New York State Assembly.

Public records show that MPower Change, a nonprofit housed at Neo Philanthropy, received at least $2.4 million in funding between 2017 and 2024, including more than $1 million from Soros’ Foundation to Promote Open Society and $450,000 from the MacArthur Foundation. Emgage Action, another key organization in Mamdani’s orbit, has received more than $3 million in grants from the same philanthropic network.

Mamdani’s rise has also been supported by several imams with controversial records. In January, he met with Imam Muhammad Al-Barr, who had previously prayed publicly for the “annihilation” of Israel. In May, Imam Siraj Wahhaj—who once testified as a character witness for Omar Abdel-Rahman, the “Blind Sheikh” convicted in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing—donated to Mamdani’s campaign fund. Mamdani later described Wahhaj as “one of the nation’s foremost Muslim leaders.”

Other clerical backers include Imam Talib Abdur-Rashid of the Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood in Harlem, who previously defended individuals linked to terrorist organizations, and Imam Khalid Latif of New York University, who endorsed Mamdani on social media in June.

Following criticism of his meeting with Wahhaj, Mamdani received public support from Sarsour, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), and Emgage Action. Sarsour shared a photo of herself with Mamdani, writing, “May Allah continue to bless and protect you.” Emgage’s executive director Wa’el Alzayat responded to the controversy by saying, “We are in this for the long haul.”

Al-Aqidi said the controversy only confirms how deeply the network is entrenched. “For over a decade, Linda Sarsour and her network of allies have built the Mamdani machine piece by piece: the institutions, the donors, the narratives, and now, the candidate,” she said. “His rise was not spontaneous. It was engineered, and the machinery behind it is only getting stronger.”

Twelve NJ Democrat Mayors Break Ranks to Endorse Republican Jack Ciattarelli [WATCH]

Republican New Jersey gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli has announced that he has received endorsements from at least 12 Democratic mayors across the state as early voting gets underway.

During an appearance, Ciattarelli said, “When Democratic mayors are endorsing the Republican nominee, it tells you how badly people want change. We’ve raked up at least 12 Democratic mayors that have endorsed me.”

According to Newsweek, the Democratic mayors who have publicly backed Ciattarelli include North Bergen Mayor Nick Sacco, Branchville Mayor Anthony Frato, and Garfield Mayor Everett Garnto Jr. Notably, Garnto also announced that he is leaving the Democratic Party entirely following his endorsement of Ciattarelli.

Sacco, a longtime critic of Democratic Governor Phil Murphy, formally endorsed Ciattarelli two weeks ago, citing dissatisfaction with what he described as years of state funding cuts affecting local communities.

“North Bergen has faced significant challenges in recent years, losing critical state funding and aid despite our ongoing appeals for support,” Sacco wrote in a post on Instagram. “Jack has been consistently responsive and pledged to stand with North Bergen and ensure that our community—and others like it across New Jersey—receive the resources and attention they deserve.”

He continued, “I have full confidence in his leadership and his commitment to doing what’s right for our residents and for the future of our state. The welfare and well-being of our North Bergen residents are more important than party lines.”

These endorsements mark a significant development in the closely watched gubernatorial race, which has drawn national attention as early voting begins.

Ciattarelli’s campaign has focused heavily on cost-of-living issues, state tax rates, and education funding. Meanwhile, his Democratic opponent, Mikie Sherrill, has emphasized maintaining state programs implemented under Governor Murphy.

In addition to support from New Jersey mayors, Ciattarelli has received backing from the New Era Democrats, a Brooklyn-based political organization that describes itself as a working-class advocacy group.

“We are proud to endorse Jack Ciattarelli for Governor of New Jersey,” said the group’s president, Celia Lervasi. “As life continues to become unaffordable for the working class and New Jersey continues to be one of the highest taxed states in the country, Jack is the right person needed to make life more affordable for the residents of the Garden State.”

Ciattarelli’s campaign has sought to expand its appeal beyond the Republican base, highlighting bipartisan endorsements as evidence of dissatisfaction with the state’s current leadership.

The New Jersey gubernatorial race has become one of the most competitive statewide contests in the country, with both parties viewing it as a potential bellwether ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

A Rutgers University-Eagleton poll released Thursday shows Sherrill holding a narrow lead, with 50 percent of likely voters supporting her compared to 45 percent for Ciattarelli. The same survey found that nearly one in ten voters remain undecided, a margin that could prove decisive as early voting continues through next week.

Ciattarelli, a former state assemblyman and the 2021 Republican nominee, has emphasized fiscal reform and education accountability as the cornerstones of his campaign. He has pledged to lower state property taxes, expand small-business incentives, and address concerns about classroom curriculum transparency.

Sherrill, a former U.S. Representative, has campaigned on maintaining social service funding, preserving state healthcare programs, and continuing climate initiatives launched during Murphy’s administration.

Both campaigns have increased statewide outreach in the final stretch before Election Day, with early voting expected to drive record turnout levels.

Trump commuted the sentence of disgraced former GOP representative George Santos on October 17, months after also releasing reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley from prison.

Maldonado exclusively told RadarOnline.com that he is losing his patience.

“Am I disappointed that all three got out before I did? Who wouldn’t be?” Maldonado said.

“… I am truly disappointed that George Santos has not gone public to help bring my case more attention since his release, because we talked on his podcast and phone before he went to prison.”

“He lived 27 some days in hell. I spent 2 years and 8 months in that hell, and you have the bloody photos,” the Tiger King star added, referring to Santos sending Trump a letter from prison describing his brutal living conditions.

Maldonado, 63, also called out the Chrisleys’ daughter, Savannah, who received a call from Trump to let her know the news of her parents’ release.

### Joe Exotic’s Desperate Plea

The reality star raged, “I don’t have a good-looking daughter like Savannah Chrisley to get on TV and on a podcast and beg Trump every day, or a spouse like Brittney Griner did to be in the news every day to get her out of Russia.”

“My parents both have died since being here, and my siblings disowned me in the ’90s for being gay,” Maldonado claimed.

The ex-TV star, who has been battling cancer behind bars, also admitted he may not have much time left.

He told RadarOnline.com, “Anyone can die in here. I pray with my health issues that I don’t. Worst case right now is that I am out in October of 2030. It would be the worst thing for the Republican party for me to die in here because the millions of people who watched Tiger King Season 2, where they admitted to perjury, would hate that Trump let me die in here….”

Maldonado emphasized that he doesn’t necessarily need a full pardon. “I just want Trump to commute my sentence to time served with no probation so I can travel and work, and I will make you so proud of who all I can help with my platform like I used to before I had this platform.”

“Just a second chance like Todd, Julie, and George got is all I am asking for, for Christmas.”

### Claims of Government Conspiracy

Maldonado has done all he can to see the light of day again, including reaching out to Attorney General Pam Bondi. He claims he is behind bars due to a government conspiracy.

According to Maldonado, the government witnesses who testified against him were involved in fraud, identity theft, bank fraud, sex trafficking, and rape.

“The worst part is that the federal wildlife agents and two FBI agents who led this conspiracy covered up some very heinous crimes in order to get three felons to play their corrupt games, and they entrapped me for two fake murder-for-hire plots,” Maldonado ranted in a letter.

However, the letter went nowhere and didn’t help secure his release.

Despite this, Maldonado remained hopeful at the time, claiming prosecutors were “weighing out their options” regarding his uncertain future. He said, “…to offer me time served or something else if they can keep that conviction because they don’t want to lose that conviction.”

### Savannah Chrisley Praises Trump for Parents’ Release

Maldonado is hoping to get as lucky as the Chrisleys, who were released from prison following their short stay behind bars for tax evasion and bank fraud.

At the time, Savannah Chrisley gushed: “The president called me personally as I was walking into Sam’s Club and notified me that he was signing paper pardon paperwork for both of my parents. So both my parents are coming home tonight [Tuesday] or tomorrow [Wednesday], and I still don’t believe it’s real. I’m freaking out – the fact that the president called me.”

“I will forever be grateful for President Trump, his administration and everyone along the way, all of my lawyers, the people who put in countless hours and effort and love for my family to make sure that my parents got home,” the 28-year-old added.

“My parents get to start their lives over… President Trump didn’t just commute their sentences; he gave them a full, unconditional pardon. So for that, I am forever grateful.”
