Cabinet okays 57 new KVs, over 86,000 students to benefit across India

The Union Cabinet has approved the establishment of 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), which will benefit over 86,000 students across the country. This significant move aims to enhance access to quality education nationwide.

These new KVs are sponsored by the state governments along with the Home Ministry, ensuring strong institutional support. Importantly, the schools will include Balvatikas as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 reforms, focusing on early childhood education.

The new Kendriya Vidyalayas will be strategically located in aspirational districts, Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas, the North Eastern Region (NER), and hilly districts. This targeted approach aims to bridge educational gaps in underserved and remote regions.

In addition to expanding educational infrastructure, the initiative will generate 4,617 permanent jobs, contributing to employment growth alongside educational development.

Overall, the approval of these 57 KVs marks a major step forward in improving education accessibility and quality for thousands of students across India.

Varun Dhawan reveals he got drunk for ‘JugJugg Jeeyo’

**Varun Dhawan Reveals He Got Drunk While Shooting for ‘JugJugg Jeeyo’**

*By Apoorva Rastogi | Oct 01, 2025, 05:34 PM*

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan recently opened up about an unusual method he and co-star Maniesh Paul used to portray drunkenness authentically in the film *JugJugg Jeeyo*. In a candid interview with Pinkvilla, Dhawan revealed that both actors started drinking alcohol early in the morning to get into character — but things quickly got out of hand.

### The Scene That Required Real Drunkenness

Dhawan recalled the climax scene of the film featuring Anil Kapoor, where his character delivers a drunken speech during a vow renewal ceremony. “During that climax scene with Anil sir, when they are renewing their vows, I get drunk and I give a speech. So we were supposed to be drunk,” he said. To capture the essence of the moment, he and Maniesh began drinking at 7:30 am. By 2:00 pm, both actors were slurring their words, experiencing the effects of their early morning drinking session firsthand.

### Re-shoots Due to Intoxication

Unsurprisingly, their genuine drunkenness made it difficult to finish the scene properly. Dhawan revealed, “And the next day, the shoot continued, so we had to drink again.” This commitment to authenticity involved multiple takes under the influence to get the perfect shot.

### What’s Next for Varun Dhawan?

Aside from *JugJugg Jeeyo*, Varun Dhawan’s upcoming film is *Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari*, which also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles. The movie is set to release in theaters on Thursday, October 2.

UAAP: La Salle gets back on track, fends off FEU fightback

UAAP Season 88 Basketball Tournament: La Salle Edges FEU 74-72

MANILA, Philippines – La Salle survived a furious fourth-quarter rally to edge Far Eastern University (FEU), 74-72, and return to the win column in the UAAP Season 88 men’s basketball tournament on Wednesday at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.

The Green Archers managed to dodge a late-game bullet when FEU’s Jorick Bautista missed a wide-open layup in the crucial moments of the game, preserving La Salle’s narrow victory.

With this win, La Salle gains momentum as the tournament continues, while FEU will look to regroup and bounce back in their upcoming matches.
