Sophie Flay, a general assignment reporter at ABC7/KABC-TV in Los Angeles, is joining ABC News as a correspondent and overnight anchor for *World News Now* and *Good Morning America First Look*.
Flay has been with the Los Angeles station, which is owned by ABC, since March 2019. During her tenure, she has covered significant stories including the Monterey Park mass shooting, the raid on the home of Sean “Diddy” Combs, the Oscars, and the Eaton Fire.
Starting this week, Flay will be based in New York and will report across ABC News’ platforms. Both *World News Now* and *Good Morning America First Look* serve as lead-ins to affiliates’ early morning programming, providing news updates to viewers at the start of their day.
A graduate of the University of Southern California, Flay has also contributed to her alma mater as an adjunct professor. She is the daughter of renowned chef Bobby Flay.
The executive producer of *World News Now* and *Good Morning America First Look* is Ken Kneeland, while Simone Swink serves as the senior executive producer of both overnight programs and *Good Morning America*.
