Vancouver Canucks coach Adam Foote expressed disbelief after losing forward Brock Boeser to injury during Thursday’s 4-3 shootout win over the St. Louis Blues.
The Canucks have been plagued by injuries this season, and Boeser was the ninth player to join the team’s long injury list. He sustained a lower-body injury after taking a slapshot to the lower abdomen during Thursday’s game. He is currently considered day-to-day.
In the post-game media interaction, Foote said:
“Yeah, we got to find that person with the voodoo and all, if that’s a thing. I don’t believe in that stuff, but I’m like, ‘What is going on here?’ It’s going to just, if we can handle it and be resilient, stick to what we’re doing, we’ll all grow from it.”
He added,
“And once we get another guy back, another guy back, another guy back, now we’ve got depth. So, I mean, yeah, it’s tough, but I’m just proud of the group. They’re becoming a very good team in there, and that’s huge.”
Foote had no update regarding the extent of Brock Boeser’s injury. Boeser has six points this season through four goals and two assists.
In addition to Boeser, the Canucks are already without several key players including captain Quinn Hughes, Conor Garland, Derek Forbort, Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, Teddy Blueger, Jonathan Lekkerimaki, and Nils Hoglander.

### Adam Foote Praises Kiefer Sherwood After Hat Trick Performance
Kiefer Sherwood was the standout player for the Canucks in their 4-3 win over the Blues. Sherwood scored a hat trick in the game, helping his team secure the shootout victory.
Foote praised Sherwood’s dedication and mindset, saying,
“He loves the game. What I love about him is, early in the season, he was good, and then got off real quick and his emotions were in play, and our four coaches did a good job just talking to him, going, ‘You have some fun here.’”
