Rylan Clark has revealed his next TV move, which comes after his recent return to the small screen alongside his pal, Robert Rinder. The presenter can currently be seen exploring India as part of the unexpected TV duo. Following the popularity of their first travel series on BBC Two, Rob and Rylan were given a second outing.
Last year, Rylan and Rob—also known as Judge Rinder—joined forces for their own BBC Two show, *Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour*. The three-part series saw them visit some of Italy’s greatest art treasures across Venice, Florence, and Rome. During the journey, they followed in the footsteps of 19th-century romantic poet Lord Byron and other historical Grand Tourists, captivating audiences with their unique travelogue.
Due to the success of their show, Rob and Rylan traveled to India last year to film the next episodes, which began airing earlier this month. This new three-part series, *Rob and Rylan’s Passage to India*, retraces the footsteps of Rob’s favourite novelist, E. M. Forster, who penned the celebrated *A Passage to India* over a century ago.
In this series, the duo journeys through Delhi, Rajasthan—known as the Land of Kings—and Varanasi, often regarded as the spiritual heart of India. Their Indian adventures continue to unfold, and with a third series set to explore Greece, fans have more to look forward to.
In addition to this, Rylan has been announced as the host of another new TV show, this time with a fresh on-screen partner. Sharing the announcement from Sky History UK on Instagram, the post read:
“Essex has a dark past and Rylan and Professor Alice Roberts are teaming up to explore it. With hundreds of women murdered for accusations of witchcraft, prepare to discover the harrowing history of Essex. #WitchesOfEssex comes to Sky HISTORY this October. Starts Tuesday 14 October at 9pm.”
Fans have already expressed their excitement on social media. One user, @alison_everitt, commented: “I didn’t realise my home county had that much witchcraft history! I’ll be watching though.” Another, @charl0ttesayshi, added: “Ahh this looks so cool!! Can’t wait to watch, perfect spooky season viewing!”
Other enthusiastic reactions included:
– @evilonqueenstreet: “The combo I never knew I needed until I saw this poster!!! Yes!!!”
– @becc.awally: “Rylan and Professor Alice?! I’m already obsessed!”
– @aura_and_earth: “Omggggggggg @rylan this is fin AWESOME.”
This new project comes after Rylan faced some controversy on *This Morning*. While filling in for Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard during their annual summer break from the ITV show, Rylan’s comments on immigration sparked more than 700 complaints to Ofcom.
The BBC Radio 2 star’s remarks caused a stir among viewers, prompting many complaints online. In response, the former *X Factor* star took to Instagram to clarify his position. The 36-year-old wrote:
“You can be pro-immigration and against illegal routes. You can support trans people and have the utmost respect for women.”
With multiple TV projects underway and a growing fan base, Rylan continues to be a prominent and engaging figure on British television. Keep an eye out for his upcoming shows as he explores fascinating histories and cultures alongside his charismatic partners.
