Secrets of the stars ahead of the Oscars: Picture perfect poses, the right dress and more

NEW YORK – The Oscars represent the ultimate intersection of film and fashion, where hard work is rewarded, and unforgettable red carpet moments are made. Each moment is etched into history with one statue and one photograph at a time.

Entertainment reporter Joelle Garguilo set out to uncover some of the secrets stars rely on when preparing for an award show like the Oscars.

Dr. Dendy Engelman of the Shafer Clinic revealed that she has been treating several people attending the Oscars and has been busy for the last six months. “People are getting ready, you know, they’re doing body toning, they’re doing skin tightening,” Engelman said.

She also shared insights into what her celebrity clients often say when they come in. “I need to look perfect without looking done, head to toe perfection, you would be shocked,” Engelman explained.

When asked about the most requested treatment currently, Lucia Miranda from the Shafer Clinic said, “The tight jawlines with the Everest, get them snatched and lifted, and the best thing is I can do it, and they can walk to get their makeup done right away.”

In addition to facial treatments, the team focuses on muscle building and body toning to help clients look their best for the big night.

Regarding the dresses, the days of picking a gown off the rack are long gone. Designers like Natalie De’Banco of Bronx & Banco work closely with celebrities and their stylists to create custom looks — often up until the last minute. De’Banco has dressed stars such as Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, and Miley Cyrus.

When asked about her typical preparation time, De’Banco said, “A month if you are lucky. So if you came to me and you asked for a red carpet gown, that’s basically what we create.”

As photos of the stars flood social media immediately after the event, De’Banco emphasized that this kind of exposure is priceless marketing. “In today’s digital age, you have to know how to make it all work when the cameras are flashing.”

That’s where image consultant and posing instructor Britney Hayles comes in. “Practice makes perfect,” Hayles said. “Looking at the cameras in front and to the side. And when you’re done posing, you have a little wave.”

While some secrets of the stars are meant to be shared, one lesson remains clear: looking effortless on the red carpet takes a tremendous amount of effort behind the scenes.

Former TV sports anchor turned shoe designer inspires others to follow their dreams

Flor de Maria Rivera calls fashion her first love and shoes her forever passion. Some might even call her the Latina Carrie Bradshaw—a woman whose obsession with shoes has taken her from the newsroom to the runways of Hollywood.

“Fashion was my first love,” Rivera said. “So it was one of my things. I started a fashion blog, moved to New York with three suitcases full of dreams, and that’s how the story began.”

Before launching her own line of designer shoes, Rivera spent more than a decade as a sports anchor and publicist. But she eventually traded in her press passes to chase her dream all the way to Milan, where she studied shoe design.

“One of the reasons I wanted to start this shoe line was because after collecting over 500 pairs of shoes, I couldn’t find what I was looking for in just one pair,” she explained. “That’s when I decided I love shoes, I know what women want, and I’m going to give it to them.”

Those influences led her to launch her self-funded brand, Flor de Maria, just four months before the pandemic hit. Her perseverance paid off. Today, her sleek, bold, and comfortable heels have graced the feet of celebrities such as Shakira, Mariah Carey, and many others.

“Every time I see one of those celebrities step out in one of my shoes—when they can wear any shoes in the world—it’s a testament that hard work, perseverance, discipline, and putting your heart into everything you do pays off,” Rivera said.

Her proudest moment yet? Seeing not one, but two pairs of her designs, including bright yellow mules, featured on *And Just Like That*, the *Sex and the City* sequel.

“That is such an iconic show that is based on fashion and shoes,” she said. “So, for me, the moment I saw my shoes there, it was a full-circle moment.”

While Rivera dreams of seeing Beyoncé or Taylor Swift in her heels, she says her greatest goal is to inspire other women to follow their passion, believe in themselves, and keep chasing their dreams—no matter how high the heels they wear.

“I was getting ston*d” – Celebrity star details his WWE debut alongside Randy Orton; reveals segment didn’t go as rehearsed

WWE has featured a number of celebrities in the squared circle over the past few years. From Bad Bunny to Travis Scott, the company has managed to include some of the biggest names in entertainment time and time again.

Back in November last year, on WWE RAW, music sensation Jelly Roll was featured as a guest on the show. He was involved in a backstage interaction as well as a segment inside the squared circle. Following his segments, Jelly Roll sat at ringside to witness the main event match between Randy Orton and Dominik Mysterio.

During the match, Mysterio—accompanied by JD McDonagh—was trying to leave the arena early when Jelly Roll unexpectedly took McDonagh down and pushed Mysterio towards Randy Orton, who delivered a thunderous RKO.

### What Really Happened Behind the Scenes?

While the segment made headlines worldwide, it wasn’t exactly what the stars had rehearsed. In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Jelly Roll revealed that Randy Orton was originally set to smash Mysterio through an announce table when he pushed him toward “The Viper.”

Jelly Roll shared that the moment felt surreal and “like the coolest thing ever.” He added that he never anticipated this spontaneous action would lead to their match at SummerSlam.

> “I’m sure y’all know this about the Viper already, but none of that happened in rehearsal,” Jelly Roll said.
> “In rehearsal, I was supposed to push Dom into him, and he was supposed to table him, you know, the Randy table drop. So I was gonna push him back, Randy’s gonna be there, and I was gonna push him. Instead, it was like so when Randy does it, walks over to me. I was like, ‘Oh, this is the coolest thing ever, dude.’ And it was cool because obviously I was getting stoned in the back, so that’s what he’s alluding to.”

He further added:
> “I smelled like a big reefer, but he’s just so awesome. And then I was in the back that night doing my interview, I think maybe with Jackie, and he stopped and crashed my interview and put his arm around me and was like, ‘Man, I’m proud of you, man.’ A lot of the celebrities have come here, gave the big rub on camera right then too. And I would have never guessed that that was going to us being able to wrestle together.”

### When Will Jelly Roll Appear in WWE Again?

Since his massive WWE debut match alongside Randy Orton against Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam, Jelly Roll has not been seen on WWE television. The music sensation has not been advertised for any upcoming WWE shows, and his return date to the company remains unknown.

Fans will have to wait and see what WWE has in store for Jelly Roll’s next appearance in the squared circle.
