49ers HC Kyle Shanahan Makes Admission on Brock Purdy’s Injury

The San Francisco 49ers have shown they can win without quarterback Brock Purdy, which is reassuring given that he may not be fully healthy anytime soon.

Niners coach Kyle Shanahan announced that Purdy might not be at full strength for the remainder of this season. Purdy missed his fifth straight game during the 49ers’ 34-24 victory over the New York Giants. The team currently stands at 6-3 overall and 5-2 with Mac Jones starting in Purdy’s absence due to a lingering toe injury.

Purdy has missed two games earlier in the season because of this toe ailment, along with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder. Despite this, reports suggest he could be well enough to return for San Francisco’s upcoming showdown on Sunday against their rivals, the Los Angeles Rams, at Levi’s Stadium.

### Brock Purdy May Not Be 100 Percent Again This Season

No player who logs significant snaps is ever truly 100 percent healthy once November rolls around, but Purdy’s condition—turf toe, medically defined as a hyperextended big toe—is especially painful when playing on artificial turf. This injury is likely to remain a concern for the 49ers throughout the rest of the season.

“Any time you’re dealing with this turf toe, it’s something that probably won’t fully go away all year,” Shanahan said after the 49ers’ win over the Giants. “Regardless of when he comes back, he’s always going to have to deal with it a little bit.”

The 49ers have played two consecutive games on turf and three of their past five games on artificial surfaces. However, that streak will end when they return home to face the Rams. Sunday’s game marks the start of a stretch featuring five straight games on grass (including four in a row), followed by their Week 14 bye and then a home game in Tennessee.

This upcoming matchup is considered conducive for Purdy’s potential return, according to Shanahan. “When you talk to people who have gone through turf toe, it’s really about when is it the best time when you have to deal with it the least,” Shanahan explained. “It’s a little bit of a tricky decision.”

### The 49ers Are Trying To Get Brock Purdy As Healthy As Possible Before He Returns

When asked about the possibility of Purdy undergoing toe surgery, Shanahan indicated that it is unlikely. Meanwhile, Mac Jones has continued to perform impressively in his pro career. The fifth-year quarterback boasts a 67.2% completion percentage, a 10-5 touchdown-to-interception ratio, and is averaging 261.7 passing yards per game. This strong performance has provided no pressing reason to rush Purdy back onto the field.

Shanahan is focused on carefully easing Purdy back into practice, conscious of not pushing the quarterback too hard given the severity of his injury. The 49ers currently hold about an 80% chance of making the playoffs, and they will want their No. 1 quarterback healthy if they hope to make a serious run at playing a Super Bowl on their home turf in February.

“I just want to make sure he gets 100 percent better, and I won’t put him out there too early,” Shanahan said. “I thought about [Purdy] as a backup or emergency [third QB], but I think the more time we give him, the better.”

Madison Keys vs Amanda Anisimova Preview

Madison Keys and Amanda Anisimova will face off in their second group stage match of the WTA Finals. Keys captured her first Grand Slam title this year by winning the Australian Open. She also reached the semifinals at Indian Wells and the quarterfinals in Montreal. However, the American was surprisingly defeated by Renata Zarazua in the first round of the US Open and this marks her return to the tour after a two-month break.

Keys began her campaign in Riyadh with a lackluster performance against Iga Swiatek, suffering a 6-1, 6-2 defeat. She struggled to find her rhythm and will be desperate to raise her level in the upcoming match.

On the other hand, Amanda Anisimova has had a remarkable season. She won the title in Doha and finished as runner-up at both Wimbledon and the US Open. Additionally, she claimed the title in Beijing and reached the last 16 in Montreal. Anisimova’s start to the WTA Finals was underwhelming as she lost to Elena Rybakina 6-3, 6-1 in the first round.

The fourth seed will be eager to bounce back and solve the challenge posed by Keys in this high-stakes encounter.

Head-to-Head

The head-to-head record between Madison Keys and Amanda Anisimova stands at 0-0. This will be their first competitive meeting on tour.

Madison Keys vs Amanda Anisimova Odds

All odds are sourced from Oddschecker.

Prediction

Madison Keys missed the Asian hardcourt swing and appears to be struggling with match fitness in Riyadh. Her performance against Swiatek was underwhelming, and she will know that she must elevate her game in the next round. Keys is one of the cleanest hitters on tour, which could prove pivotal.

Amanda Anisimova, meanwhile, has impressed this year with consistent and powerful performances. Having narrowly missed out twice on winning a Major title, she will carry that momentum forward into the next season. With her all-around strong game, Anisimova can beat any opponent on tour.

In this All-American clash, Anisimova is a slight favorite. At just 24 years old, she has shown more consistency than Keys and should be able to emerge victorious.

Pick: Amanda Anisimova to win in straight sets.

Betting Tips

  • Tip 1: Match to have fewer than 20 games.
  • Tip 2: Anisimova to register more winners than Keys.

Sydney Sweeney says she’s ‘used to’ being sexualized since her breakout ‘Euphoria’ role

Sydney Sweeney Opens Up About Being Sexualized as an Actress

Sydney Sweeney is opening up about her experience with being sexualized in Hollywood. During an October 28 appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Julia Cunningham Show,” the 28-year-old actress candidly shared how she feels about this aspect of the industry.

The conversation touched on Sweeney’s role as a pregnant nun in the upcoming 2024 horror movie *Immaculate*. The host mentioned a review that criticized her for “constantly being in a wet white shirt,” calling it “ridiculous.” Reflecting on the review, the host admitted to being surprised and asked Sweeney if she thought her role on *Euphoria* was the reason that many of her subsequent roles were viewed through the lens of sexualization.

“Yeah. I think Cassie was just such a big pop culture character with *Euphoria* and the zeitgeist of that generation,” Sweeney responded. “It was honestly the first big thing people saw me in, and I think it’s difficult for people to disassociate actors from their roles, especially a character like that.”

She explained that this inability to separate the actor from their character creates a “different kind of dynamic.” To illustrate her point, Sweeney shared that even her own brothers communicate with her using memes related to her *Euphoria* character. However, she emphasized that every role she has taken on since then has challenged viewers’ perceptions of her range, citing projects like *Reality*, *Christy*, *Americana*, and *Eden*.

“I think it’s just… there are growing pains,” she added.

Sweeney appeared alongside the cast of her latest film, *Christy*, in which she portrays the real-life professional boxer Christy Martin. Reflecting on the first major impression *Euphoria* left on audiences, she said, “It was honestly the first big thing people saw me in, and I think it’s difficult for people to disassociate actors from their roles, especially a character like that.”

At Variety’s Power of Women event on October 29, Sweeney accepted an award for her advocacy work. She dedicated the honor to Christy Martin and revealed how she connected with Martin’s story, despite not being a fighter herself.

“I know what it feels like to be underestimated, to have people define you before you’ve had a chance to define yourself. I know what it feels like to have to prove that you deserve to be here, to be seen, to be taken seriously,” Sweeney said.

She continued, “But every one of us has our own fight, and Christy reminds us all that strength doesn’t look loud sometimes, and sometimes it’s just about getting back up again and again, no matter who’s watching.”

During the event, Sweeney turned heads in a sheer silver dress that left little to the imagination. Her *Euphoria* season three co-star, Sharon Stone, praised her bold fashion choice on the red carpet, telling Variety, “It’s OK to use what mama gave you.”

Jake Paul discusses legitimacy of Tank Davis fight, legal threats to critics, and fiancée’s Olympic hopes

Jake Paul is just two weeks away from stepping back into the ring, but once again, there’s not exactly a typical opponent waiting on the other side. On November 14, Paul is set to face Gervonta “Tank” Davis in Miami. The matchup has caught plenty of attention because Davis normally fights seven weight classes below Paul, who competes as a cruiserweight.

Although this fight is not officially sanctioned, Paul emphasized in a recent interview with Fox News Digital that “it’s the same deal. Everyone remembers that there’s a winner.”

Paul has faced criticism before for his choice of opponents, such as Mike Tyson—who is 31 years older than him—and Anderson Silva, a former UFC star nearly 22 years his senior. Additionally, some of his previous boxing opponents like Andre August and Ryan Bourland have not been widely recognized names. Now, similar skepticism has arisen regarding Davis due to the weight-class disparity.

However, Paul, who has repeatedly expressed his ambitions to become a world champion and is eligible for a WBA title fight, argued that this upcoming matchup further validates his legitimacy as a boxer.

“I think people have said, ‘Fight someone your age, fight one of the best in the world.’ This is answering both of those things in one,” he said. “And being the underdog with half the internet thinking I’m going to get killed and blah, blah, blah, and proving to people that I can box better than someone who’s been doing it their whole life. I think people will be shocked after fight night as to my skills and how I strategically came in with a game plan and I executed it.”

Paul explained that his game plan for this fight is very different from those in the past. “A lot of it’s focusing on speed, but also just high-level thinking in the sport, ring IQ, not making any mistakes. Not getting countered, not getting lazy at any moment, alertness, all of these things. The list goes on,” he said. “But I have to be the sharpest I’ve ever been for 39 minutes straight, and that’s not easy to do against someone who’s one of the pound-for-pound best.”

The unsanctioned nature of the fight has led to accusations—similar to those surrounding many of Paul’s previous bouts—that the fights are staged, fixed, or rigged in some way. Such claims escalated to the point where Paul and his business partner, Nakisa Bidarian, threatened legal action, notably against commentator Piers Morgan.

Morgan later “clarified” his comments after Paul and Bidarian announced potential lawsuits, and since then, Paul has noticed a quiet from critics.

“People haven’t been talking. And rightfully so, right?” Paul said. “Like, stop lying on my name. People can say a lot of things, but when they’re blatant lies that actually defame my brand—people saying fights are rigged, steroids, whatever it is—that’s where it goes too far.”

He continued, “So, you know, hate on the fights, don’t watch the fights, whatever, but as soon as people start lying, they’re going to get sued.”

After the fight, Paul plans to focus on his fiancée, Jutta Leerdam, who will be competing for her first Olympic gold medal in speedskating. Leerdam, 26, won a silver medal in the women’s 1,000 meters at the 2022 Beijing Olympics. The couple got engaged earlier this year, but their intense training schedules have complicated wedding planning.

Paul has even found that his own training commitments have impacted his ability to support Leerdam fully during this important time.

Today’s 5 Best MLB Prop Bets: NRFI, Strikeouts, Moneyline, and more Picks for Dodgers vs Blue Jays World Series Game 6 – October 31, 2025

With the World Series pressure at its peak, individual matchups start to matter just as much as the final score, and that’s where prop bets can offer real value. Playoff baseball tightens every plate appearance, every pitch sequence, and every bullpen decision, creating windows where certain player trends stand out more than the market suggests.

Tonight’s matchup brings elite arms, red-hot hitters, and a few numbers that line up perfectly with recent form. After digging into performance patterns, pitch profiles, and situational trends, here are the best player props that carry both logic and value heading into tonight’s game.

*Note: Odds are set by DraftKings Sportsbook and are subject to change. No outcome can be guaranteed when betting on sports.*

### Today’s 5 Best MLB Prop Bets for Dodgers vs Blue Jays World Series Game 6

#### #5. Dodgers Moneyline −144
If there’s ever a spot to ride the Dodgers, it’s this one: a do-or-die Game 6 where everything they’ve built all season hangs in the balance. They just got punched in the mouth at home by Toronto in Game 5, a loss that flipped the energy inside Dodger Stadium and reminded everyone that October doesn’t care about resumes.

Now L.A. walks into Rogers Centre with its back slammed against the wall, needing a win to survive. Historically, this is when their stars play their sharpest baseball. This is the exact version of the Dodgers bettors trust: angry, cornered, and fully locked in.

Moneyline at −144 isn’t just a number—it’s a bet on a heavyweight that knows its season ends tonight unless it lands the final punch.

#### #4. Kevin Gausman Strikeouts Over 4.5 (−159)
In the postseason, Gausman has carried good form too: 24.2 postseason innings pitched, 18 strikeouts. If there was ever a night Kevin Gausman could etch his name into Toronto baseball history forever, it’s this one.

The Blue Jays are one win away from a World Series title, and suddenly the entire weight of a franchise, a fanbase, and a 32-year drought sits on the shoulders of the veteran righty.

Betting him for more than 4.5 strikeouts is essentially backing his baseline workload and strikeout profile rather than asking for an outlier. Expect Gausman to attack the zone and rack up swinging strikes if he’s given length.

#### #3. Shohei Ohtani: Total Bases 2+ (−110)
Ohtani’s bat is the single most dangerous one in this series. He slammed two homers and reached base nine times in the 18-inning Game 3 explosion, and he carries a monstrous 2025 power resume into every World Series start.

He’s not just a one-swing threat; Ohtani’s plate profile means he puts himself into multiple extra-base opportunities per game. His October track record shows he’s seeing the ball better than ever, and at −110, we’re getting fair value on a hitter who’s been doing this all month.

#### #2. NRFI (No Run First Inning): YES (Under 0.5) (−120)
With Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Kevin Gausman opening Game 6, the first inning has all the makings of a tight, low-contact heavyweight round.

Yamamoto has locked in after a shaky start to October and has leaned heavily on his splitter early to neutralize top-of-the-order threats. Gausman’s splitter-four-seam combo tends to be sharpest before hitters settle in.

With two aces settling into a must-win environment, the NRFI at −120 feels like one of the most stable props on the board tonight.

#### #1. Kevin Gausman: Hits Allowed Over 4.5 (−107)
The tricky part about Gausman tonight is that even if he’s pitching well, he’s almost destined to give up hits—not because he’s struggling, but because Toronto needs him to stretch deeper than usual in a potential championship clincher.

With workload likely pushing him into the fifth inning at minimum, the Over 4.5 hits isn’t fading him as much as it’s respecting the reality: to win the World Series tonight, he’s going to have to navigate traffic.

Stay tuned and good luck with your bets tonight!
