**Understanding the Pity System in Duet Night Abyss**
Duet Night Abyss famously dropped the traditional gacha system for characters and weapons, instead offering a system that allows players to farm for whatever they want. However, there *is* still a gacha system in the game—it’s tied exclusively to cosmetics. Many of the fancy skins and unique visual items are hidden behind this cosmetic gacha, so it’s important to understand how the pity system works before you dive in.
### How the Pity System Works
If you want to snag some of the skins in Duet Night Abyss, you’ll need to engage with the cosmetic gacha. The pity system ensures the following:
– **Every 10 pulls (or “Weaves”) guarantees a purple rarity cosmetic item.**
– **Every 90 pulls guarantees 25 Iridescent Prisms**, a currency used to purchase skins.
The rarity tiers in the cosmetic gacha are **Green**, **Purple**, and **Gold**. Iridescent Prisms are associated with the Gold tier. Purple-tier items typically include cosmetic accessories such as glasses, hats, masks, or other character adornments, but not full outfits.
When you do pulls, each set of 10 Weaves guarantees at least one purple-tier cosmetic. If you reach 90 pulls without hitting the Gold tier, you receive 25 Iridescent Prisms automatically. Should you pull a Gold-tier item before reaching 90 pulls, the pity counter resets back to zero.
### Finding and Using Cosmetic Banners
Cosmetic banners can be found in the **Shop** under the **Recommended** tab. Pulls on these banners are referred to as **Weaves** in-game.
There are two types of hourglasses required for pulls:
– **Prismatic Hourglass**: Used for Event Banners.
– **Pristine Hourglass**: Used for Standard Banners.
Make sure to check the **Details** tab on each banner (located near the center bottom of the screen) to review the exact drop rates for the different items.
### Important Notes on the Pity System
– The pity system is unique to each banner. Progress on one banner does *not* carry over to others.
– Some skins are also available for direct purchase in the shop.
– To quickly see if characters have skins available, visit their **Cosmetic** section in the **Armory**. There, you’ll find quick links to the shop page for easy access.

By understanding and utilizing the pity system effectively, you can maximize your chances of obtaining your favorite cosmetics in Duet Night Abyss without frustration. Happy weaving!
