Manoj Bajpayee On Whether He Believes In The Supernatural World, Jugnuma, Anurag Kashyap And More

**Jugnuma – The Fable: Manoj Bajpayee on the Mystical New Film**

*Jugnuma – The Fable*, starring Manoj Bajpayee and directed by Raam Reddy, is set in 1989 and tells the story of a family living in the hills whose peaceful life is disturbed by mysterious fires breaking out in their orchards. The film is currently running in theatres and features a talented cast including Priyanka Bose, Deepak Dobriyal, and Tillotama Shome.

There is a hint of mystical elements woven into the narrative, notably with Manoj Bajpayee’s character acquiring wings and flying off into the sky, adding a magical dimension to the story.

In an exclusive phone interview, Manoj Bajpayee shared insights about his involvement in the film, his thoughts on the supernatural, and more.

**How did you get associated with Jugnuma?**

Ram offered me the script, and when I read it, I was completely taken in by the unique world he created on paper. The story also touched on certain existential issues that resonated deeply with me, as I was personally searching for similar answers.

**What really made you say yes to the script? Was it Anurag, Guneet, Ram, or a combination of all three?**

Guneet came on board much later, after the film was completed. After watching it, she decided to be part of the project. Anurag saw the film in New York and immediately wanted to help take it as far as possible. However, during the making of the film, it was just Ram and me. I said yes because of Ram’s talent as a filmmaker and the script itself, which I found to be unique, mesmerizing, and magical.

**The mysterious fires and magical elements — is the story loosely based on any true incidents?**

I’m not entirely sure. Ram would be the best person to answer that. What I do know is that the inspiration came from reports of fires in jungles and mountains, which Ram then used as a springboard for his imaginative story.

**Do you believe there’s another world out there — a supernatural one?**

Sort of. Honestly, you’ll have to watch the film to really understand what it’s about. Personally, I do believe in God and in powers beyond our mental comprehension. Even though we can’t see these forces, there’s a reason why the natural world around us moves with such precision, almost like on autopilot. With our naked eyes, we perceive this presence through nature, but there has to be someone—or something—designing, protecting, and sometimes even devastating this world.

*Jugnuma – The Fable* promises to be a beautifully crafted narrative blending reality, mysticism, and human emotions. Don’t miss it in theatres now.

EXCLUSIVE: How Jeremy Piven is Using Stand-Up Comedy to Grieve the Loss of His Mother After Her Tragic Passing Earlier This Year

Sept. 22, 2025, Published 5:35 p.m. ET

Actor Jeremy Piven is using laughter as the best medicine as he continues to mourn the loss of his mother earlier this year. In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, the star with over 100 film and television credits detailed his decision to return to his live theater roots while touring the country with a new stand-up comedy act.

Piven is probably best known as the sly and sarcastic Hollywood agent Ari Gold on the HBO series Entourage. The 60-year-old won three consecutive Emmys for the role and can barely step outside without someone yelling his character’s catchphrase “LLOYD!” at him. However, the TV show is now behind him as Piven pivots toward one of his earliest loves – live performances – a passion that came from his theater-loving mother, Joyce, who passed away in January at age 94.

Finding Healing Through Comedy

Speaking exclusively with RadarOnline.com, Piven said his new career as a traveling stand-up comic is helping him heal during his grieving process.

“When you’re on the road and you’re ordering breakfast and, you know, you’re crying and trying to gain some clarity, it’s always good to just take a beat, tell a joke, start laughing and then shake it off,” he said. “Because grieving isn’t for sissys. It’s a part of that, and it’s good to just break through that and have a laugh.”

Comedic Inspirations and Tour

Piven likens his comedy style to greats such as Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, and George Carlin. His jokes range from personal stories on sets to impressions and even some original characters. His tour spans from New York, New York, to West Palm Beach, Florida, to Irvine, California, and various locations in between.

He already has dates booked through May of next year. The Grosse Pointe Blank actor says every time he takes the stage, his mother is never far from his thoughts.

“I talk about her in my show,” Piven shared. “So I take her up on stage with me wherever I go. She loved a good laugh. She was very funny.”

A Mother’s Lasting Legacy

Piven’s love of live theater was deeply influenced by his mother. In the early 1970s, Joyce and her late husband, Byrne Piven, co-founded the Piven Theatre Workshop, which trained a notable roster of actors including John Cusack, Joan Cusack, Kate Walsh, Lili Taylor, and Aidan Quinn.

Two decades earlier, Joyce and Byrne were founding members of the improv-heavy Playwrights Theatre Club, led by Paul Sills who went on to create The Second City in 1959.

Joyce’s teaching methods and secret acting tips were documented in the book she co-wrote with Byrne in 2012, In the Studio With Joyce Piven.

Touching Tribute

When Joyce passed away earlier this year, Jeremy Piven shared a heartfelt tribute to her on Instagram, accompanied by several photos of the two together.

“Yes, she’s my mother, but she was an incredible human being,” he wrote. “Acting teacher to so many of us who genuinely enjoyed the evolution of her students. Taught us to respect the space we occupy when we perform, instilled the integrity of the work, and how lucky we are to get it.

“When we would run lines together (until the end) she would enter into the character and do whatever accent was needed. She was graceful until her last breath. Always the teacher… We don’t know how long we have here in this human form, but I can tell you that we lost a good one. She’s dancing with my father. Be good to each other.”

EXCLUSIVE: Donald Trump’s Late-Night ‘Kill List’ Revealed After Jimmy Kimmel Is Axed — From Jimmy Fallon to Trevor Noah

**Donald Trump’s Secret ‘Kill List’ Targets Liberal Late-Night Comedians**

*Published: September 22, 2025, 4:23 p.m. ET*

Donald Trump has reportedly drawn up a secret “kill list” of liberal late-night comedians he wants removed from the airwaves, multiple television industry sources revealed to RadarOnline.com.

The 79-year-old president is said to have circulated the list to key broadcast contacts just hours after ABC abruptly suspended *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* The network confirmed that Kimmel’s long-running show would be put on hold “indefinitely” following a series of scathing monologues, in which the 57-year-old comedian mocked conservatives over the murder of activist Charlie Kirk.

### Kimmel’s Show Returns After One Week

As of Monday, September 22, ABC announced the return of *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* just one week after its unexpected suspension.

### Trump’s Social Media Celebration

Within minutes of the announcement, Trump celebrated on his social media platform Truth Social, calling Kimmel’s removal “great news for America.” He urged rival networks to dismiss other prominent critics, including Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, and Trevor Noah.

One Republican media strategist with direct knowledge of Trump’s plan disclosed:
“He has privately circulated a list of names – Fallon, Colbert, Meyers, Noah, and of course Kimmel. He wants them all gone. The instruction to his allies is to lean on the networks until every one of them is silenced.”

Trump’s online post left little doubt about his intentions, stating:
“Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has zero talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!!”

### The Pressure on Late-Night Comedy

The outburst followed Kimmel doubling down on jokes about Kirk’s killing during two consecutive monologues, criticizing conservatives and mocking Vice President JD Vance. Kimmel notably said:
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.”
He also added, “Trump is fanning the flames by attacking people on the left.”

According to a senior network executive, Trump’s fury extends beyond social media rants.
“He is making calls,” the executive revealed. “There’s a pressure campaign to push these shows off the air. Trump doesn’t just want Kimmel sidelined – he’s demanding a full clear-out of the late-night field.”

### FCC Chair Backs ABC’s Decision

Brendan Carr, chair of the Federal Communications Commission, publicly defended ABC’s decision, saying Kimmel was “suffering the consequences” of his words. However, a communications industry insider claims Carr has faced “relentless pressure” from Trump to increase regulatory scrutiny on broadcasters who employ satirical hosts critical of his administration.

### Mixed Reactions in Washington

Not everyone in Washington has welcomed the move. The SAG-AFTRA union condemned Kimmel’s suspension, warning:
“Suppression of free speech and retaliation for speaking out on significant issues of public concern run counter to the fundamental rights we all rely on.”

Meanwhile, White House deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich applauded the network’s actions, stating:
“Welcome to consequence culture. Companies like ABC are finally willing to do the right and reasonable thing.”

### Trump’s Longstanding Battle with Late-Night Comedy

For Trump, late-night comedy has long been a political battleground. Fallon has remained a target since their infamous 2016 interview, while Meyers frequently skewers the president in his *Closer Look* segments. Colbert has been informed by CBS that his show will end this season—a decision critics believe was influenced by his sharp anti-Trump stance.

Noah stepped away from *The Daily Show* in 2022, but insiders say Trump still fumes over his legacy.
“He sees these shows as the last standing megaphones of the liberal elite,” said a longtime Trump adviser. “And he won’t rest until every one of them is off the air.”

Bill Maher Calls Out ‘The View’ Hosts for Awkwardly Staying Silent About ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ Suspension as Network Imposes Strict Rules — ‘It Won’t Kill You’

**Bill Maher Calls Out The View for Ignoring Jimmy Kimmel Drama**

*Published: September 22, 2025, 1:46 p.m. ET*

Bill Maher has criticized the ladies of *The View* for staying silent amid the recent controversy surrounding Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

### Jimmy Kimmel Live! Pulled from Air

*Jimmy Kimmel Live!* was taken off the air following comments made by the comedian regarding the MAGA crowd’s reaction to Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Kimmel accused the MAGA supporters of using the tragic event for “political points,” which sparked a major backlash.

### What Did Maher Say?

On Friday, September 19, during the opening monologue of his *Real Time* show, Maher addressed *The View*’s silence on the issue.

*”I’m friendly with the ladies on The View, but they didn’t say anything about this this week. Nothing,”* Maher remarked. The 69-year-old then added sarcastically, *”You know, because it’s never been their thing to weigh in on the issues. It’s just an upbeat party show. That’s why they hired people named Joy [Behar] and Sunny [Hostin] and Whoopi [Goldberg].”*

Maher further urged co-hosts Ana Navarro, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farah Griffin to comment, saying:
*”Girls, go out strong, OK? It won’t kill you, I promise. It’s happened to me, and I may go out after this show. We don’t know.”*

Maher’s own show, *Politically Incorrect*, was pulled off the air back in 2001 after he made controversial comments about the 9/11 hijackers.

### Whoopi Goldberg Speaks Out

On Monday, September 22, Whoopi Goldberg responded to Maher’s remarks during *The View*.

*”Did y’all really think we weren’t going to talk about Jimmy Kimmel? I mean, have you watched the show over the last 29 seasons? No one silences us,”* she said.

She explained that the hosts took a moment to see if Kimmel would address the situation first:
*”When the news broke last week about Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension, we took a breath to see if Jimmy was going to say anything about it first.”*

Whoopi emphasized the importance of free speech:
*”You can not like a show, and it can go off the air. Someone can say something they shouldn’t and get taken off the air. But the government cannot apply pressure to force someone to be silenced… we fight for everybody’s right to have freedom of speech because it means my speech is free, it means your speech is free.”*

### Kimmel’s “Controversial” Comments

The controversy began on September 15, when 57-year-old Kimmel discussed the alleged killer of Charlie Kirk, Tyler Robinson, and criticized Republicans’ responses.

Kimmel stated:
*”We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”*

These comments did not sit well with FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, who threatened “immediate action” against Kimmel, ABC, and Disney, accusing them of “deliberately misleading the public” by suggesting Robinson had right-wing leanings.

Following this, Kimmel’s show was pulled from the air, sparking backlash from the public, celebrities, and politicians, including former President Barack Obama and California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Maher voiced his support during his monologue:
*”So Jimmy, pal, I am with you. I support you. And on the bright side, you don’t have to pretend anymore that you like Disneyland.”*

### How Can Kimmel Save His Show?

As of Monday, *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* remains off the air. However, there is a path for Kimmel to return: issuing an apology.

Sinclair Broadcast Group—the nation’s largest ABC affiliate group—has reportedly set forth demands for Kimmel to save his show. These include:

– Issuing a direct apology to the Kirk family
– Making a meaningful personal donation to the Kirk family and Turning Point USA

Turning Point USA, founded by Charlie Kirk in 2012, is a nonprofit advocating for conservative policies on high school and college campuses.

Charlie Kirk was tragically shot and killed on September 10 while hosting an event on a Utah college campus.
