Justin Baldoni’s Texts Show Support From Rainn Wilson in Blake Lively Feud: ‘You Were Set Up’

In the midst of feuding with Blake Lively while filming *It Ends With Us*, Justin Baldoni received texts of support from his friend, *The Office* alum Rainn Wilson. As a result of Baldoni’s legal defense team filing the texts as evidence, the details of the group chat have now been released.

On a January 5, 2024 text thread that included Baldoni, actor Travis Van Winkle, musician Andy Grammer, and *It Ends With Us* producer Jamey Heath, Wilson inquired, “Any update Brothers?”

Baldoni responded by outlining “one of the hardest nights of my life,” during which he had a terse discussion with Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds.

“Ryan was talking to me like a five-year-old and scolding me,” Baldoni wrote. “They essentially said that Jamey and I are not who we claimed to be and that for us to have a podcast is unsafe because it makes people feel like we are safe.”

“The word creepy and abuse were used in reference to me in my behavior,” Baldoni added later. “I was then given the words of what to say, and had to apologize which I was unable to do because my brain was trying to comprehend what was happening.”

“I feel this was so unjust and yet the only path forward was to acknowledge her and Ryan’s feelings and apologize and take the wrath of an angry husband,” Baldoni also wrote.

“Oh my God. I can’t believe it,” Wilson replied. “You were set up and ambushed and personally attacked. I’m stunned. I completely relate to you being stunned, like a deer in the headlights. Probably better that you didn’t immediately just start apologizing.”

Wilson continued, “So grateful that Jamey is your partner, and could step in diplomatically as needed. Onwards brother. Make a great and important and entertaining piece of storytelling. That’s all you can do now.”

Actress Dasha Nekrasova Fired By Gersh, Dropped From Movie Amid Backlash Over Podcast Interview With Far-Right Political Commentator Nick Fuentes

Dasha Nekrasova, an actress known for her work in projects like HBO’s *Succession* and A24’s *Materialists*, has been fired by Gersh following a recent podcast interview with far-right political commentator Nick Fuentes, Deadline has confirmed with a spokesperson for the agency. Deadline has reached out to Nekrasova for comment and will update the story if and when a statement from the actress is issued.

The interview in question was posted on YouTube a month ago and was part of *Red Scare*, a cultural commentary podcast that Nekrasova has co-hosted with Anna Khachiyan since 2018. The video is titled “Fuentanyl OD Nick Fuentes x Red Scare (Dasha Nekrasova and Anna Khachiyan)” and runs for over two and a half hours.

Due to what Nekrasova describes as “technical problems” in the text under the video, the interview is essentially audio-only, alternating repeatedly between a few images of Nekrasova, Khachiyan, and Fuentes together.

The conversation, which has been viewed over 220,000 times to date, touches on numerous controversial topics. The trio discusses “international jewery” multiple times, perpetuating offensive stereotypes about Jews, Italians, Asians, and others. The dialogue also includes troubling remarks about immigrants from developing countries, particularly non-white ones.

Nekrasova and Khachiyan’s guest, Nick Fuentes, is known as the leader of the “Groypers,” a movement of young right-wing activists who critique mainstream conservatism and advocate for more extreme positions.

Fuentes is widely regarded as holding more extreme views than figures like Charlie Kirk—the Trump-allied media personality who was assassinated on September 10 during a Utah debate event. Kirk himself was controversial due to his stances on immigration, race, the January 6th insurrection, and Covid-19.

According to CNN, Fuentes is a “well-known White nationalist and Holocaust denier.” Publicly, the livestreamer has identified as a Christian nationalist, promoting anti-LGBTQ, anti-feminist, and misogynist views. He has also criticized Kirk’s conservative organization, Turning Point USA, for not adopting a sufficiently hardline approach.

This development marks a significant fallout for Nekrasova amid ongoing debates surrounding free speech and accountability in the entertainment industry.

Discovering a Hidden Gem

Can Acts of Seemingly Pure Self-Sacrificial Love Be Morally Reckless?

F. Marion Crawford’s dexterous handling of such questions in *The Heart of Rome* marks the novel as deserving a place in the canon of great twentieth-century literature.

Having just finished writing a fifty-part series for *Crisis Magazine* on “Unsung Heroes of Christendom,” I’ve spent much time over the past two years with those who have been unjustly forgotten or neglected. These include authors who are not as well-known or as celebrated as they should be, such as Maurice Baring and Malachy G. Carroll. The former wrote several bestselling novels between the two world wars, and the latter penned several novels in the years following World War Two.

Carroll’s best-known and most successful novel, *The Stranger*, which enjoyed considerable acclaim upon its publication in 1952, has recently been resurrected in a new edition by Cluny Media. This has enabled a new generation of readers to enjoy the saga of an unjustly maligned priest who seeks refuge in a small town in Ireland.

In my essay for *Crisis Magazine*, I praised John Emmet Clarke and Scott W. Thompson of Cluny Media for publishing the new edition of *The Stranger*, rescuing it from oblivion. Similar praise is due to John Riess, the founder of Angelico Press, for his vision in bringing back into print *The Mass of Brother Michel*, an historical novel by Michael Kent set in sixteenth-century France. This work is one of the finest pieces of twentieth-century Catholic fiction, and its neglect since its 1942 publication has been scandalous.

My recent enjoyment of these resurrected novels prompted me to finally take *The Heart of Rome* by F. Marion Crawford from the shelf. This resurrected novel had reproached me from its dust-gathering place on the shelf for a third of a century since I first purchased it in 1992.

Although it is unlikely that most twenty-first-century readers will have heard of Francis Marion Crawford, he enjoyed considerable success as a novelist in the late Victorian and Edwardian period. Born in Bagni di Lucca, a small town in Tuscany, in 1854, he lived a life of cultured cosmopolitan opulence.

His father was the American sculptor Thomas Crawford, celebrated for his contributions to the splendour of the United States Capitol, including the Statue of Freedom atop its dome, as well as the Washington Monument in Richmond, Virginia, and the statue *David Triumphant* in the National Museum of Art. His mother was a daughter of the affluent banker and benefactor Samuel Ward.

Crawford was educated successively at St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire; at Cambridge University; and at the Universities of Heidelberg and Rome. After periods living in India and the United States, he settled permanently in Italy. In 1880, he was received into the Catholic Church. Four years later, he married Elizabeth Birdan, daughter of the American Civil War general Hiram Birdan. They had two sons and two daughters.

The first of F. Marion Crawford’s many novels was published in 1882, and he continued to write until his death at his home in Sorrento on Good Friday in 1909. *The Heart of Rome*, the novel that has haunted me from its exile on the shelf, was first published in 1903.

The edition I own was newly published when I bought it in 1992 by Fisher Press, a small and adventurous Catholic publishing house founded in England by Anthony and Mary Tyler, a husband and wife team, both converts to the Catholic faith. Like the pioneering founders of Cluny Media and Angelico Press, the Tylers were motivated by the desire to bring neglected classics back into print.

Among the Fisher Press titles I purchased during the final decade of the last century—and the final decade of my own life in England—were William Cobbett’s wonderfully rhetorical *History of the Protestant Reformation*, Bernard Holland’s *Memoir of Kenelm Digby*, one of the true giants of the Catholic Revival in the nineteenth century, and Hugh Dormer’s *War Diary*, an edifying account of the author’s clandestine missions in Nazi-occupied France as a sort of latter-day Scarlet Pimpernel.

These works have either been read or at least browsed, their pages cracked open, whereas *The Heart of Rome* remained untouched in its pristine state. That was until a few weeks ago, when my experience of reading *The Stranger* and *The Mass of Brother Michel* finally prompted me to pluck it from the shelf and plunge into its pages.

What a joy awaited me! Although I found somewhat tedious the sections recounting the excavations being carried out under the palazzo in Rome where the novel is mainly set, others may find them riveting. For those with an engineering frame of mind, the detailed descriptions of the painstaking excavations in the labyrinthine cellars are fascinating. For the rest of us, the discovery of priceless treasure and the perilous presence of the mysterious “lost waters” are much more engaging.

Most important, however, is the romance that develops between the disinherited and impoverished aristocrat, Donna Sabina Conti, and the intrepid and adventurous archaeologist and architect, Marino Malipieri. It is the way Crawford handles this relationship—where eros dances decorously with chastity, without one ever stepping ineptly on the other—that is the true mark of great romantic fiction.

Few authors get this right. Jane Austen does so impeccably, as does Manzoni with Renzo and Lucia in *The Betrothed*, but they are exceptions to the rule. Crawford even takes risks that Austen and Manzoni would not have taken. While those authors are careful to chaperone their heroes and heroines, preventing inappropriate intimacy, Crawford permits his two mutually attracted protagonists to embrace intimately without the loss of the chaste restraint that tames the fires of erotic desire. He does so with an innovative ingenuity that readers need to discover for themselves.

Apart from this masterful control of eros, *The Heart of Rome* addresses other moral dilemmas with a rare balance and perspicacity. To what extent does Malipieri’s sense of honour and duty undermine the need for prudence and temperance? Can acts of seemingly pure self-sacrificial love be morally reckless? Is such recklessness reprehensible?

Great literature asks such questions with literary dexterity, subsuming the moral struggle within the narrative without succumbing to preachiness or didacticism. F. Marion Crawford’s handling of these questions in *The Heart of Rome* marks the novel as deserving of a place in the canon of great twentieth-century literature.

Following Crawford’s death, the great American novelist Henry James wrote to the English novelist Hugh Walpole that Crawford was “romantic in all his gestures, so handsome and vigorous, driving his boats fearlessly into the most dangerous seas; building his palaces on the Mediterranean shore, travelling over every corner of the globe, fearless and challenging and heroic.”

There is nothing one could possibly add to James’ description of Crawford. I am, however, willing to assert that *The Heart of Rome* is as “fearless, challenging and heroic” as its author. It is a rediscovered gem, hidden by the sands of neglectful time, which, plucked from the dust, deserves its place in the literary diadem.

Cyprus vs Austria Prediction and Betting Tips | November 15th 2025

The action continues in Group H of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers as Cyprus and Austria lock horns at the Alphamega Stadium on Saturday. Ralf Rangnick’s men are on an eight-game unbeaten run against the hosts since May 1968 and will be out to extend this dominant streak.

Cyprus turned in a dominant team display last time out when they cruised to a 4-0 victory over San Marino at the San Marino Stadium on October 12. Akis Mantzios’ men had failed to win their previous five games in the qualifiers, losing three and claiming two draws—a run which saw their hopes of reaching the global tournament come to an end. So far, Cyprus have picked up eight points from their seven qualifying matches to sit fourth in Group H, five points behind second-placed Bosnia and Herzegovina, who occupy the playoff spot.

On the other hand, Austria were guilty of an uncharacteristic lack of cutting edge in attack last time out, falling to a 1-0 defeat against Romania. Prior to that, Rangnick’s men had a perfect run with five wins from five matches in the qualifiers, scoring 19 goals and conceding just twice. With 15 points from a possible 18, Austria currently lead Group H, two points clear of Bosnia heading into the final two matches.

### Cyprus vs Austria: Head-to-Head and Key Numbers

Austria have been imperious in the history of this fixture, claiming seven wins and one draw from the previous eight games against Cyprus. The hosts have struggled lately, failing to win five of their most recent six competitive matches—losing three and drawing two since March 23.

Conversely, Austria have lost just two of their last 12 matches across all competitions, amassing eight wins and two draws since October 2024. Cyprus, however, remain unbeaten in four consecutive competitive home games, securing two wins and two draws after a tough run of six straight home defeats.

### Prediction: Cyprus vs Austria

While Cyprus will be playing for pride, Austria find themselves in a heated race with Bosnia for the automatic qualifying spot. We expect Rangnick’s men to bring their best to the Alphamega Stadium and continue their dominance in this fixture.

Given the gulf in experience and quality between the two sides, Austria are tipped to return to winning ways with a convincing performance.

**Prediction:** Cyprus 1-3 Austria

### Cyprus vs Austria Betting Tips

– **Tip 1:** Austria to win
– **Tip 2:** Over 2.5 goals — There have been at least three goals scored in five of Cyprus’ last seven games.
– **Tip 3:** First to score — Austria (The home side have conceded the opening goal in six of their last seven matches).
