1990 Volvo 740 Turbo Wagon

This 1990 Volvo 740 Turbo wagon was originally delivered new through Volvo’s European Special Delivery program. It remained registered with a single owner in California until 2024. In June 2024, it was sold on Bring a Trailer (BaT) and was subsequently acquired by the current seller in Colorado three months later.

Under the current ownership, several performance and maintenance upgrades were completed. These included the installation of a performance camshaft, an adjustable cam gear, and urethane anti-sway bar bushings. In addition to these modifications, cosmetic and mechanical refurbishments were carried out. Dents in the left rear and left front wheel arches were repaired, and the affected panels were repainted. The rear wiper motor was replaced, and the sunroof mechanism was repaired. Other components such as the timing belt, water pump, crankshaft position sensor, gaskets, seals, and exhaust parts were also replaced.

This Volvo 740 Turbo is powered by a turbocharged and intercooled 2.3-liter inline-four engine paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The engine was factory rated at 160 horsepower and 187 lb-ft of torque. Additional work performed under the current ownership includes the replacement of the idler pulley, air filter, valve cover gasket, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs, accessory drive belts, and the oil was changed at approximately 187,000 miles.

The exterior of the car is finished in Polar White (189), complemented by 16-inch Hydra alloy wheels fitted with 205/55 Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires. The vehicle features automatic antenna operation and a power-operated steel sunroof. Cosmetic updates include refinishing of the grille, headlight surrounds, bumpers, side moldings, mirror housings, and replacement of the taillights. Dings on the right-front fender and right-rear door were corrected using paintless dent removal in preparation for sale.

This wagon is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes with ABS to provide reliable stopping power. The suspension benefits from a rear anti-sway bar and iPd front and rear anti-sway bar bushings fitted under current ownership. The front brake rotors were resurfaced, front brake pads were replaced, and rear shocks were installed for enhanced handling and comfort.

Inside, the cabin features heated front seats that have been reupholstered in replacement gray leather and vinyl. Other amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and mirrors, and a cassette stereo. A rear-facing third-row bench in the cargo area folds flat into the floor, expanding the versatile storage space. The steering wheel is equipped with an airbag, and the instrument cluster houses a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer flanked by auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer currently reads 187,000 miles, with approximately 6,000 miles added under the current ownership.

The powertrain sends power to the rear wheels through the four-speed automatic transmission, maintaining the classic rear-wheel-drive layout. A replacement exhaust resonator, muffler, and tailpipe from iPd were also installed.

Included in the sale are the build sheet, the original owner’s manual, parts invoices, and the removed stock camshaft and timing gear. The vehicle also comes with a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name and an accident-free Carfax report, which notably lists at least one open recall.

This well-maintained and upgraded Volvo 740 Turbo wagon presents an excellent opportunity for enthusiasts seeking a blend of classic European styling, practicality, and enhanced performance.

Powered by a 2.7-liter inline-six engine linked to a five-speed manual transmission, this E30 coupe features several notable modifications and upgrades.

The exterior showcases an M3-style fiberglass body kit, including a rear wing, front splitter, and revised bodywork. Additional details include smoked quad headlights and front turn signals, a twin-exit exhaust setup, and a power-operated sunroof. The 15″ wheels are wrapped in 205/55 Dunlop Direzza DZ102 tires, complemented by aftermarket dampers and a front sway bar to enhance handling. The odometer displays 232,000 kilometers (~144,000 miles), with roughly 2,000 kilometers added under the current owner. The total mileage prior to that is unknown.

Under the hood, the factory-rated 2.7-liter M20B27 inline-six produces 120 horsepower and 169 lb-ft of torque. The car is fitted with aftermarket exhaust components. The seller also notes that the five-speed manual transmission received a replacement clutch in 2021.

This E30 coupe is offered at no reserve with a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name. The Carfax report confirms that the vehicle has no history of accidents or other damage.
