Who is Tholindis in Genshin Impact?

If you have been playing through the recent Genshin Impact Archon Quest series, *Song of the Welkin Moon*, you’ve probably encountered a woman named Tholindis in Rerir’s memories. She was his beloved and a dedicated researcher who studied the Moons of Teyvat and their powers, specifically the Crimson Moon.

In Act IV, **”An Elegy for Faded Moonlight”**, players get to see fragments of her past and learn what kind of person she was before Khaenri’ah’s downfall 500 years ago. Through these moments, we gain a clearer understanding of how her story influenced Rerir’s fate and the choices he made from the past through to the present in *Genshin Impact*.

### Who is Tholindis in *Genshin Impact*?

Tholindis was the lover of Rerir, one of the infamous Five Sinners of Khaenri’ah. She was also a descendant of the Crimson Moon Dynasty — Khaenri’ah’s original ruling dynasty before the rise of the Eclipse Dynasty.

She studied at the Universitas Magistrorum within the Moon Marrow Laboratory, which functioned much like the national university of Khaenri’ah during that era. Throughout her life, Tholindis maintained a distant relationship with her family, choosing instead to leave them behind and follow her own path. This is revealed in a fragment of her memories that inexplicably coexist within Rerir’s memories.

Through a conversation with a boy named Orlog, it’s revealed that Tholindis was not a direct descendant but rather from a more distant branch of the Crimson Moon lineage. Unlike direct descendants, she did not possess the distinctive X-shaped eyes.

Under King Irmin’s rule in the new Eclipse Dynasty, Crimson Moon descendants were persecuted as threats. To protect herself, Tholindis concealed her bloodline and confided only in her university mentor about her heritage. Later, she met Rerir, and the two eventually fell in love, though she never revealed the truth about her lineage to him.

### Tholindis’s Research and Legacy

Tholindis dedicated her life to studying *Moon Marrow* — a fragment-like substance related to the remains of the Crimson Moon after its collapse. Her research aimed to discover an alternate energy source for Khaenri’ah, hoping to replace the unstable powers the kingdom had long depended on.

However, her progress was hindered when King Irmin started redirecting all resources and personnel toward researching Abyssal energy. Despite these challenges, Tholindis continued to work alone, performing experiments to better understand the nature of the Moons.

Eventually, she discovered that Moon Marrow acted as a spatial gateway to another world. Unfortunately, she could not decipher the process or pinpoint this other location due to limited resources.

Over time, Tholindis grew wary of King Irmin’s increasing instability and obsession with Abyssal powers. Fearing the corruption of the nation and its inevitable downfall, she made a final effort to protect her bloodline. She entrusted another descendant named Frithr with the Moon Marrow, ensuring the Crimson Moon lineage would persist into the future.

In the present day of *Genshin Impact*, that legacy continues through Arlecchino, the last known descendant of the Crimson Moon bloodline. In Act III, the Traveler and Columbina obtained the Iridescent Moon’s Marrow with Arlecchino’s assistance, and Columbina later entrusted it to Arlecchino for safekeeping.

### Tholindis and Rerir’s Relationship

Though loving, Tholindis and Rerir’s relationship was marked by secrecy. Tholindis never disclosed her Crimson Moon heritage to Rerir, and he, in turn, kept his work under King Irmin a secret from her. Nonetheless, their bond was genuine — so much so that Rerir proposed marriage to her.

Tholindis hadn’t given an answer yet but was sure about their future together. Even when she learned the truth about Rerir’s role in executing the King’s orders—which led to the deaths of many from her bloodline—she tried to understand his circumstances while fearing for her own safety.

Quietly, she aided survivors by helping them escape, all the while keeping an eye out for Rerir.

### Their Final Meeting

When the Universitas Magistrorum was invaded by Abyssal monsters, Rerir came to rescue Tholindis. He found her standing before a portal she had created through her research.

Tholindis looked back and confessed she knew about his secret and anticipated his eventual rescue attempt. Rerir urged her to leave immediately, promising to explain everything later. But Tholindis refused, saying she had found a solution to free him from his burdens, allowing him to live the normal life he longed for.

She then stepped through the portal, leaving Rerir behind.

This shattered Rerir, pushing him down the path of the Sinners as he was overtaken by Abyssal powers, becoming the Rächer of Solnari. Instantly, he used his newfound powers to open another portal in pursuit of her.

To this day, Rerir has not found her or learned what became of her over the centuries. Driven by his failure, he now hunts down the Moons and their powers in revenge and redemption.

### Conclusion

Tholindis in *Genshin Impact* is one of the most memorable lore figures yet. Her story reveals an untold side of Khaenri’ah’s history before its fall, expanding our knowledge of the Moons and their mysterious powers.

Since her tale remains unfinished and shrouded in mystery, players can look forward to learning more about her in future updates.

Remembering the many visits with Thailand’s Queen Mother Sirikit

**Farewell to Thailand’s Gem**

The longer you live, the more friends you have to say goodbye to.

A lifetime ago, in Bangkok’s Chitralada Palace garden, I met Her Stunningly Gorgeous Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand. She had a tiny, perfect figure, ebony black hair, and a face like marble. Swathed in Thai silk, she was the embodiment of elegance. Over the years, we stayed friends.

She left us last week.

We shared many visits—sometimes I was there, sometimes she was here. Once, as we sat in the sweltering sun, she told me in her excellent accented English, “Due to my country’s blessed weather, I have no lines in my face. It is because I perspire so often. This is what keeps my skin smooth.”

Over the years, we did things for one another. She wished for Bloomingdale’s to open a Thai department to sell her country’s handicrafts and exquisite Thai silk. I would conduct interviews there, and she’d invite me to her parties here.

We first met in 1961. That’s a long friendship.

During my time on TV news, she granted me an exclusive one-on-one sit-down interview. I specifically wore a white Thai silk suit to honor her. The interview took place in a suite at the Plaza Hotel, where the Thai contingent was staying. In walks Her Majesty, flanked by more than just the Thai army—and what was she wearing? A stunning white Thai silk suit. She certainly wouldn’t change clothes, and asking me to go home to change would have taken too long.

I wanted to shoot myself—but that wouldn’t have been necessary because her staff would have done it for me.

Another memorable moment was a dinner she planned in my honor in upcountry Chiang Mai. I had just stepped off the plane, my hair a mess like it had been “ripped off a camel’s behind.” Wearing a big floppy hat to protect myself from the sun, I was chauffeured directly to the banquet without stopping at a hotel to freshen up.

Seated next to Her Majesty at a tightly packed table, nerves got the better of me—I dropped a utensil. Although seventy-five servants would have eagerly retrieved it, I foolishly bent down to pick it up myself. In doing so, my wide straw hat brim scraped Her Majesty’s face. She paid it no mind, but I could swear half the soldiers with bayonets in place were ready to shoot me.

Among her gifts to me were a handmade, woven dark straw basket evening bag, lined with Thai silk, featuring an 18-karat gold handle and trimmed with diamonds. I still have it. Another gift was a brooch—a 24-karat gold beetle with actual beetle wings laminated on its sides. When I asked why, she said, “Because beetles are earth’s longest lasting creatures.” I still treasure that as well.

What did she want from me? A small drugstore packet of Kleenex.

My last time with her was during Thailand’s massive tsunami disaster. People were washed away, homes destroyed, lives lost. My friend Geoffrey Weill—one of the world’s most successful travel experts—and I had two longtime close South African friends, young teenage sisters, who were missing. We were frantic.

I flew with Geoffrey to Thailand. Queen Sirikit assigned us a high-ranking air force officer who commandeered an army plane. We flew to Phuket, where the Israeli army, experienced in handling death, was in charge of the recovery of bodies and severed parts. One of our friends had a South African map tattooed on her side, which helped identify her.

After that, Her Majesty was not well. She had stepped down. Her once gorgeous figure had taken on weight. She was no longer receiving visitors. I did not see her again—but I will love her always.

Speaking of international matters, a related anecdote comes to mind from Saudi Arabia. Once, a violent sandstorm disrupted all wire services, and suddenly this sign appeared:
**“Until further notice, please limit calls to four wives.”**

Former VP Kamala Harris leaves door open for 2028 presidential run, according to new interview

WASHINGTON — Kamala Harris isn’t ruling out another run for the White House.

In an interview with the BBC posted Saturday, Harris said she expects a woman will be president in the coming years, and it could “possibly” be her. “I am not done,” she said.

The former vice president revealed that she hasn’t decided whether to mount a 2028 presidential campaign but dismissed the suggestion that she’d face long odds.

“I have lived my entire career a life of service and it’s in my bones. And there are many ways to serve,” she said. “I’ve never listened to polls.”

Harris has recently given a series of interviews following the September release of her book, *107 Days*. The book looks back on her experience replacing then-President Joe Biden as the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee after he dropped out of the race. She ultimately lost to Republican President Donald Trump.

In an interview with The Associated Press last week, Harris, 61, also made clear that running again in 2028 is still on the table. She said she sees herself as a leader of the party, including in pushing back against Trump and preparing for the 2026 midterms.

Asked in an Oct. 17 interview with AP whether she had plans for a 2028 bid, Harris said, “I haven’t decided. Sincerely. I have not decided. I may or I may not. I have not decided.”

When asked specifically whether she still wanted to do the job itself, she used the past tense, saying, “It’s a job I wanted to do.” However, she noted that the only way to achieve it is “to run” and win.

Meanwhile, political jockeying among Democrats for the 2028 presidential contest appears to be playing out even earlier than usual. Several potential candidates are already taking steps to get to know voters in key states, including California Gov. Gavin Newsom, term-limited Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, and California Rep. Ro Khanna.

Upward of 30 high-profile Democrats could ultimately enter the primary.

How to get Drampa in Pokemon Legends Z-A

**How to Get Drampa in Pokémon Legends Z-A**

Drampa in *Pokémon Legends Z-A* isn’t the easiest Pokémon to track down, but it’s well worth the effort if you’re building out your Dragon-type lineup. This Normal/Dragon-type Pokémon only appears under specific conditions in Wild Zone 19. If you don’t meet these requirements, you’ll keep encountering other spawns instead. Here’s a guide on how to catch Drampa in *Pokémon Legends Z-A*.

### Unlocking Drampa’s Location

To access Drampa’s location, you first need to complete **Main Mission 30: Reaching Rank B**. Once done, Wild Zone 19 will open up. This area is located not too far from the Jaune Pokémon Center and is the only spot where Drampa spawns.

Drampa specifically appears **underneath the gazebo** in the middle of Wild Zone 19.

### Best Tips for Catching Drampa

Drampa’s catch rate is surprisingly decent. Here’s the best approach to catching it:

– Start by throwing a **Quick Ball** as soon as the encounter begins.
– If the Quick Ball fails, switch to an **Ultra Ball**.
– You shouldn’t have to waste too many attempts before successfully capturing Drampa.

Being a rare spawn, time of day plays a huge role. Drampa **only appears during the day**, so if you visit at night and see Pokémon like Clefairy instead, you will need to adjust the in-game time.

### How to Trigger Drampa’s Spawn

Follow these steps to maximize your chances of encountering Drampa:

1. Head to the **Jaune Pokémon Center** and check the sky.
2. If it’s night, interact with the bench outside the Center to switch to morning.
3. Once it’s daytime, fly or walk over to **Wild Zone 19** (close enough to reach even if you haven’t unlocked flight yet).
4. Check the weather — Drampa appears under several weather conditions but has the best chance of spawning during **clear skies**.
5. Drampa can sometimes be seen during cloudy or rainbow weather, but it will **not spawn during rain**. If it’s raining, either wait it out or cycle the day using the bench to change the time.

### What to Do If Drampa Doesn’t Appear

If you visit the gazebo and see a **Furfrou** or any other Pokémon instead of Drampa, the spawn cycle needs to be reset.

To reset the spawn:

1. Leave Wild Zone 19.
2. Return to the Jaune Pokémon Center.
3. Sit on the bench **twice** — this changes the time and refreshes the spawn pool.
4. Head back into Wild Zone 19 and check again.

Usually, it takes only a few resets before Drampa finally appears.

Rogue State of California Is Going to Lose Federal Funding

The Trump administration is preparing to cancel a large swath of federal funding for California, an effort that could begin as soon as Friday, according to multiple sources. Agencies are being told to start identifying grants the administration can withhold from California.

Sources said the administration is specifically considering a full termination of federal grant funding for the University of California and California State University systems.

“No taxpayer should be forced to fund the demise of our country,” White House spokesman Kush Desai said in a statement Friday afternoon, criticizing California for its energy, immigration, and other policies.

“No final decisions, however, on any potential future action by the Administration have been made, and any discussion suggesting otherwise should be considered pure speculation,” he added.

“You have a state right now being run by a bunch of people who do not want to comply with federal law and clear federal mandates, and somebody needs to confront them. The President is,” Desai said.

In his words, the state is “run by a bunch of people who refuse to comply with federal law.”

Column U.S.-Israel Relations ’60 Minutes’ of misplaced schadenfreude Never mind the nonsense. What’s important is that Trump hasn’t wavered from his backing of Israel and tough stance against Hamas. Ruthie Blum

Stahl went on to say she’d heard that Trump “was furious.” Kushner responded, “I think he felt like the Israelis were getting a little bit out of control in what they were doing, and that it was time to be very strong and stop them from doing things that he felt were not in their long-term interests.”

Stahl remarked, “People should understand that [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu, the Israelis, bombed the peacemakers. Bombed the negotiating team.” Really? People should understand that? Rather than call out this outrageous assertion and outright lie—since the strike was aimed specifically at Hamas leaders supported, funded and coddled by those very “negotiators”—Witkoff, nodding, took it a step further.

“By the way, Lesley, it had a metastasizing effect, because the Qataris were critical to the negotiation, as were the Egyptians and the Turks. And we had lost the confidence of the Qataris. And, so, Hamas went underground, and it was very, very difficult to get to them,” he said.

Talk about a jaw-dropping distortion. After all, if the Egyptians, Turks and Qataris hadn’t been against Israel throughout the war, the hostages would have been home a lot sooner.

Furthermore, Hamas “went underground” after the attack due to the realization that Israel meant business about hunting down its leaders and members wherever they may take refuge. They hadn’t been on the verge of capitulation at that point. On the contrary, they played their cards as though they had the upper hand. And, as long as they were holding and torturing dozens of innocent captives, they continued to call the shots.

The strike in Doha, coupled with the surrounding of Gaza City—Hamas’s last untouched stronghold in the Strip—shifted all that. The former caused Qatar to beg for American guarantees for protection, which it received; the latter led the “negotiators” finally to apply pressure on Hamas.

Just look at the timeline: The attack in question took place on Sept. 9; the reaching of a deal was announced on Oct. 8; and every living hostage was back home on Oct. 13.

Nevertheless, Witkoff joined Stahl in highlighting the opposite.

Now, it’s true that this exchange was part of a much longer interview. It’s also clear that it was chosen by CBS as a promo certain to garner global attention and clicks. Until the entire show is broadcast, viewers don’t know whether Witkoff and Kushner clarified their points in a direction more favorable to Netanyahu, whom Witkoff lauded last Saturday night at Hostages Square in Tel Aviv.

“I was in the trenches with the prime minister,” he told the Israelis who booed when he mentioned Netanyahu. “Believe me,” Witkoff assured, “he was a very important part here. The prime minister and his staff, [Strategic Affairs Minister] Ron Dermer included, have both sacrificed so much for this country and devoted their lives to the service of Israel. Their dedication to the history and destiny of this nation stands out tonight. They’ve given everything: their time, their energy and their hearts to building a safer, stronger future for the Jewish people. Their commitment to this country has never wavered and it never will. We thank you. The president thanks you.”

That was nothing compared to the lengthy love-letter of a speech that Trump delivered at the Knesset the following day—as the remaining 20 live hostages were returning to Israel, and just before he flew to Sharm el-Sheikh to meet with Arab, Muslim and other world leaders rushing to get on America’s good side.

“I want to express my gratitude to a man of exceptional courage and patriotism, whose partnership did so much to make this momentous day possible,” Trump said. “You know who I’m talking about. There’s only one, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He’s not the easiest guy to deal with, but that’s what makes him great. That’s what makes him great. Thank you very much, Bibi. Great job.”

In this context, the comments by Witkoff and Kushner to Stahl made no sense. Unless, of course, they were integral to Trump’s agenda to expand the Abraham Accords with potential partners whose antipathy to Israel equals, if not surpasses, their desire for a protective umbrella and other goodies from Washington.

This is worse than unfortunate, not least because of the message it conveys to the “anybody but Bibi” demonstrators. These are the liars who continue to accuse Netanyahu of prolonging the war for his personal political benefit. Oh, and who insist that his arm was twisted into agreeing to Trump’s plan.

Opposition leader Yair Lapid gave gleeful voice to the slander. In a post on X on Saturday, he wrote, “The interview of Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner on ‘60 Minutes’ is an earthquake. For the first time, it was said openly: After the failed attack in Doha, Trump thought that Netanyahu had lost control and forced him into an agreement that Netanyahu didn’t want.”

Never mind the nonsense. What’s important is that Trump hasn’t wavered from his backing of Israel and tough stance against Hamas. He’s been persistent in the demand that Hamas return all the remaining bodies of murdered hostages and relinquish its weapons. Naturally, neither condition for proceeding with the deal has been met.

All that matters now is how he reacts to emerging reports of renewed Israel Defense Forces airstrikes in Rafah, after Hamas terrorists fired an anti-tank missile at IDF engineering vehicles. It’s hard to imagine that he won’t stand behind such actions.

We can’t say the same for the likes of Lapid and his ilk, however. They’re too busy basking in “60 Minutes” of misplaced schadenfreude.

Taylor Swift Has $2.3 Million Announcement Before Chiefs-Raiders

The Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for another home game at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, October 19. Since it’s a home game, there’s a good chance that superstar singer Taylor Swift will be in attendance. Swift is engaged to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and she often attends his home games, feeling comfortable with the security measures in place. For away games, where security can be less reliable, she usually opts to stay away.

This upcoming Sunday, the Chiefs will face off against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders, currently holding a 2-4 record, have been having a rough season, making this game potentially easier than last weekend’s contest against the Detroit Lions. However, no win should be taken for granted, and the Chiefs are expected to be fully focused and ready to perform.

### Taylor Swift Helps Raise an Incredible Donation

Ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Las Vegas Raiders game, Taylor Swift is making headlines not just for football, but for a remarkable charitable impact.

Swift recently wore a vintage Monterey Bay Aquarium otter T-shirt, which sparked a significant fundraising effort for the aquarium. The shirt, originally from the 1990s, gained attention when Swift donned it during the filming of “The Official Release Party of a Showgirl.” The shirt appeared in the final video, catching the eye of fans and supporters.

According to a report by KSBW, following the film’s premiere, the Monterey Bay Aquarium noticed an influx of donations in $13 increments—Swift’s favorite number—and renewed interest in the out-of-production otter T-shirt. Capitalizing on this momentum, the aquarium decided to reissue the shirt as part of a special fundraiser, aiming to raise $1.3 million, another meaningful number linked to Swift.

The results were staggering. The fundraiser hit the $1.3 million goal in just seven hours and, as of Friday, October 17, had raised over $2.3 million and counting. The aquarium shared on their fundraiser page:

> “We’re saying thank you to all the eagle-eyed fans out there with a re-release of our vintage Monterey Bay Aquarium sea otter t-shirt. We tracked down the original artwork—first printed in the 1990s—and are bringing it back, sustainably. For a limited time, we’re running a special campaign to support our Sea Otter Program and other critical ocean conservation work.”

### ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Is a Hit

Taylor Swift’s latest album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, is also enjoying massive success. The album marked the biggest debut of the year on the Billboard 200 chart, moving more than 4 million album units. Additionally, it shattered the record for the most vinyl albums sold in a single week, with 1.2 million copies.

Critics have given the album glowing reviews. Rolling Stone praised it, stating:

> “Taylor Swift’s *The Life of a Showgirl* combines new, exciting sonic turns with incisive storytelling.”

Maya Georgi of Rolling Stone added:

> “On her 12th studio album, Swift hits all her marks—from new, exciting sonic turns to incisive storytelling.”

Swift’s current success extends beyond music and sports. With her engagement to Travis Kelce, she also has wedding plans underway, adding to an already exciting time in her life.

Stay tuned to see if Swift will make an appearance at Arrowhead Stadium this weekend and continue to use her incredible influence for good causes.
