The Giants fell to 2-10, losing to the Detroit Lions on Sunday as general manager Joe Schoen continues the search for a new head coach. The franchise had fired former head coach Brian Daboll after a 2-8 start to the 2025 season while deciding to continue with Schoen. Mike Kafka took over as the interim head coach and has since led the Giants to two straight losses, including Sunday’s loss to the Lions. The loss meant the Giants have dropped out of playoff contention for this campaign. Thanks for the submission! Reactions are trailing the team’s 10th loss of the season, especially with calls across social media for Schoen to be fired. Francesco Dimaggio wrote: 70% Win (110-25-1) 70% Win (110-25-1) 70% Win (110-25-1) Unlock Free tips from our Experts Get Picks Now “You got to get rid of the GM, just not the coach. The coach doesn’t trade or pick up players.” Stakit also demanded: “Please fire the GM.” Herbert D. Espinosa remarked: “This is only the mathematical confirmation of something we all knew a long time ago.” JaydenBlue commented: “How did the Giants get eliminated before the one-win Titans?” Jonathan V also commented: “And they keep the general manager despite having 1 winning season.” Chris wrote: “Thanks, Giants, for another joke of a season. Fire everyone and sell the team.” Why wasn’t Joe Schoen fired alongside Brian Daboll? Many felt that the firing of Daboll by the Giants was a justified move and long overdue. But the decision to retain Joe Schoen has been described as “stopping at a half measure.” But co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch attempted to explain what warranted the measure in a statement. The excuse, of course, was that Schoen has recruited a young pool of talent. Mara said: “We feel like Joe has assembled a good young nucleus of talent, and we look forward to its development. Unfortunately, the results over the past three years have not been what any of us want. We take full responsibility for those results and look forward to the kind of success our fans expect.” The implication of this statement is that the co-owners are convinced Joe Schoen has delivered on his stated role of recruiting talent for the team. Daboll’s role of getting results out of the talent is what the co-owners deem unfulfilled. The Giants have tasked Schoen with finding a new head coach as Kafka steers the team’s ship in the interim. With his five-year deal almost running into its final year, it remains to be seen what his future with the franchise will be.

The only thing we might love more than opening presents on Christmas morning is gathering around the table for a delicious holiday brunch. With pajamas still on and the morning’s excitement still intact, a festive spread is the final flourish on an already magical day. Our editors are no strangers to a quality holiday recipe, and they’re sharing the dishes most worth making. From casseroles to sweet treats, here are 10 recipes perfect for your holly-jolly brunch. Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole “This hearty breakfast casserole is my go-to for feeding a crowd. It takes so few ingredients and comes together quickly, unlike many overnight recipes. I like to switch it up by adding chopped peppers and onions and mixing the bacon into the casserole instead of just sprinkling on top. The options are endless!” Mary Shannon Hodes Overnight French Toast Casserole with Bourbon-Maple Syrup “I love anything sweet for breakfast/brunch, which is why I love this French Toast Casserole! You make it the day before, so all you have to do in the morning is pop it in the oven. A splash of bourbon and maple syrup adds a caramel-like sweetness. Top with toasted pecan, and your kitchen will smell amazing!” Melinda Salchert Our Best-Ever Banana Bread “There are always several overripe bananas sitting in my freezer just waiting to be turned into banana bread. This recipe is so fast and uses ingredients you probably already have on hand. Don’t be afraid to throw in some chocolate chips, though!” Mary Shannon Hodes Baked Oatmeal “I made baked oatmeal for the first time two years ago, and my friends and family have been requesting it ever since. The flavor variations are practically endless, but I love this recipe because it calls for apples.” Symiah Dorsey Hashbrown Casserole “You can’t go wrong with hashbrown casserole, and this one is just like the one my Aunt Debbie always makes. It’s cheesy, indulgent, hearty, and oh-so delicious!” Rebecca Baer Roasted Tomato Quiche “Quiche is always a crowd-pleaser, and this recipe is almost like a cross between quiche and tomato pie (two of my favorite things!). Plus, the addition of cheese and bacon is always welcome.” Kaitlyn Yarborough Creamy Egg Strata “This Christmas-morning classic is always a hit! Plus, it gives everyone a chance to talk about that iconic scene from The Family Stone (if you know, you know).” Meghan Overdeep Mini Hash Brown Frittatas “I love any excuse to bring out the muffin pan. These mini hash brown frittatas are adorable, easily customizable, and truly such a fun addition to the brunch table.” Symiah Dorsey Blueberry Scones “I make scones on Christmas morning, and my family keeps requesting them every year! The best part about this recipe is you can switch up the flavor for your holiday brunch with the variations.” Cameron Beall Classic Grits Breakfast Casserole “Grits are a non-negotiable for me at breakfast and brunch. If I’m going all out, there better be grits. And if I can dress them up for the holidays, I will, as I do with this Grits Breakfast Casserole. Because it has breakfast and bacon, you really don’t need t0o many other dishes for the meal, so it’s a way to streamline your menu, too.” Kimberly Holland.

Rand Paul laments MTG resignation: ‘Sad to see her voice go away’
“But that’s what an independent voice will help in our country an independent voice within the Republican caucus not to see things always inside the box, but to think of some out of the box solutions. So I think independent voices are important in the Republican Party,” he added. Greene announced she will resign from Congress at the beginning of next year after serving for three terms. That announcement came shortly after she publicly feuded with President Donald Trump over healthcare costs and the Epstein files. Trump was initially Greene’s motivation for getting into politics. Greene began her political career as an elector on Trump’s behalf and won her first election in 2020, taking office right around the time of the Jan. 6 riots. Greene would later defend the Jan. 6 protesters and Trump ultimately pardoned all of them. “I’ve always represented the common American man and woman as a member of the House of Representatives, which is why I’ve always been despised in Washington, D. C., and never fit in,” Greene said in her resignation announcement. CROCKETT CALLS OUT MTG FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO ‘TAKE THE HEAT’ FROM TRUMP Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) also lamented Greene’s resignation, saying he was “very sad for our country but also happy for my friend Marjorie.” Republicans in the House will be down to a 218-seat majority once Greene departs the lower chamber in January.

Astronomy Picture of the Day – The Observable Universe
Astronomy Picture of the Day The Observable Universe NASA ^ | 23 Nov, 2025 | Illustration Credit & Licence: Wikipedia, Pablo Carlos Budassi Posted on by MtnClimber Explanation: How far can you see? Everything you can see, and everything you could possibly see, right now, assuming your eyes could detect all types of radiations around you — is the observable universe. In light, the farthest we can see comes from the cosmic microwave background, a time 13. 8 billion years ago when the universe was opaque like thick fog. Some neutrinos and gravitational waves that surround us come from even farther out, but humanity does not yet have the technology to detect them. The featured image illustrates the observable universe on an increasingly compact scale, with the Earth and Sun at the center surrounded by our Solar System, nearby stars, nearby galaxies, distant galaxies, filaments of early matter, and the cosmic microwave background. Cosmologists typically assume that our observable universe is just the nearby part of a greater entity known as “the universe” where the same physics applies. However, there are several lines of popular but speculative reasoning that assert that even our universe is part of a greater multiverse where either different physical constants occur, different physical laws apply, higher dimensions operate, or slightly different-by-chance versions of our standard universe exist. UNC’s Reese Brantmeier Wins NCAA Women’s Tennis Singles Championship
UNC senior Reese Brantmeier defeated Cal’s Berta Passola Folch in an all-ACC championship match at the NCAA Women’s Singles Championship in Orlando Sunday. Brantmeier won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. Sunday’s win capped off a thrilling week for Brantmeier, who played three-set matches in the first, second, third and semifinal rounds before Sunday’s championship. She beat opponents from Vanderbilt, SMU, Auburn, Texas and USC before defeating Passola Folch. Brantmeier’s quarterfinal win was particularly notable, as she defeated Texas’ Carmen Andreea Herea in two sets, finishing with a dominant 6-0 win in the second set after going to a tiebreak in the first. Herea was the No. 2 overall seed in the 64-woman field. The win adds to an already crowded trophy case for Brantmeier. The junior helped Carolina win its first-ever NCAA team championship in 2023, then finished as the runner-up in the NCAA Doubles Championship the next week with teammate Elizabeth Scotty. The Tar Heels won the ACC Championship in both 2024 and 2025, with Brantmeier winning ACC Player of the Year and earning All-America honors in both singles and doubles. She helped Carolina reach the national semifinals in the 2025 NCAA Team Championship, but was forced to exit her singles match with an injury. The Tar Heels lost to eventual champions Georgia. Brantmeier’s title wraps up the fall season for the UNC women’s tennis program, which will return to action in the spring season after the new year and community information to you by signing up for our newsletter. Zohran Mamdani stands by President Trump criticism despite friendly White House meeting
WASHINGTON New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani didn’t back down in an interview that aired Sunday from past criticism that President Donald Trump acted like a despot and a fascist after a surprisingly friendly White House meeting between the two men. The newly elected democratic socialist and the Republican president have fiercely criticized each other in the past. Trump called Mamdani a “100% Communist Lunatic” in a social media post following the incoming mayor’s election victory, and Mamdani has said Trump was attacking democracy. Yet the two political foils emerged smiling after the meeting Friday and spoke of shared goals. Pressed about his past criticism during a “Meet the Press” interview conducted Saturday, Mamdani said his views remained unchanged. “Everything that I’ve said in the past, I continue to believe,” Mamdani said. “And that’s the thing that I think is important in our politics, is that we don’t shy away from where we have disagreements, but we understand what it is that brings us to that table, because I’m not coming into the Oval Office to make a point or make a stand. I’m coming in there to deliver for New Yorkers.” Trump had brushed aside Mamdani’s criticisms Friday and even jumped in on his defense several times. When a reporter asked if Mamdani stood by his comments that Trump is a fascist, Trump interjected before Mamdani could fully answer the question. “That’s OK. You can just say yes. OK?” Trump said. “It’s easier. It’s easier than explaining it. I don’t mind.” Asked about the fascist criticism on “Meet the Press,” Mamdani said, “That’s something that I’ve said in the past. I say it today. ” Kevin Hassett, director of the National Economic Council, said on CNN’s “State of the Union” talk show that Trump wants to work with everybody who cares about the future of the American people. “We’re at times disagreeing about policies,” Hassett said, “but I think that the objective of making life better for everybody is something that a lot of people share on the Democratic and Republican side.” Though far apart politically, the White House meeting offered potential political benefits for both men. The incoming mayor was able to meet one-on-one with the president, and Trump got to to talk about affordability, an issue that is increasingly important to voters.

“A batter like Shreyas Iyer is needed” – Mohammad Kaif picks his No. 4 for IND vs SA 2025 ODI series
With Shreyas Iyer ruled out of India’s ODI series against South Africa due to a rib injury, former cricketer Mohammad Kaif has named his choice to bat at No. 4. Kaif reckoned that Dhruv Jurel should slot in, claiming that he can mould his game according to the situation. Ad Jurel, who has played only Test and T20I cricket for India, received his first ODI call-up during the recent tour of Australia but didn’t get a game. He is one of the three wicketkeepers selected in the squad to face the Proteas in the upcoming three-ODI series, and the youngster could make his 50-over international debut. Reflecting on India’s choice for No. 4, Kaif pointed out that the 24-year-old can stabilize the innings if wickets fall early and can also bat throughout the innings should the situation demand. With Iyer finding enormous success at No. 4 for India in ODIs, Kaif believes Jurel must adopt a similar approach. He said in the latest video on his YouTube channel ‘Mohammad Kaif’: Ad Trending “Dhruv Jurel should bat at number four because he has an organized technique. He can stabilise the innings if wickets fall early. He can mould his game according to the situation. Jurel also has the potential to finish the game well. A batter like Shreyas Iyer is needed at number four. Iyer helped Virat Kohli quite a bit, especially in the 2023 World Cup. Kohli used to play his natural game, taking singles and doubles along with the odd boundary. Iyer used to dominate in the middle overs due to which India were in an advantageous position most of the time. I think Jurel has to take an approach similar to Iyer.” Ad Kaif also warned that India’s seam-bowling department is weak, opining that all-rounder Hardik Pandya is the missing link. “I don’t see Tilak Varma and Ruturaj Gaikwad getting an opportunity in the first game. KL Rahul will play at five. Then there is Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja. So, there is batting till No. 8. Spin department is complete Sundar, Jadeja, Kuldeep. But if Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana make it to the eleven, who is the third seamer? I don’t consider Reddy as the third seamer, he can be the fourth. Reddy can bowl 3-5 overs but the first-change bowler is equally important. So, Hardik Pandya is that missing link,” he added. Ad Along with Iyer and Shubman Gill, Pandya is also nursing an injury, thus remaining unavailable for the ODI series. The selectors have also rested Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah, with KL Rahul set to lead India in the series. “Dhruv Jurel is ahead of Rishabh Pant” Mohammad Kaif In the same video, Kaif claimed that Jurel is ahead of Pant as far as ODIs go, given that the latter is returning to the setup after a long time. Pointing out the left-hander’s mediocre white-ball record, Kaif said: Ad “I think Dhruv Jurel is ahead of Rishabh Pant in the pecking order if you consider the playing eleven. He is playing well in Tests, scoring hundreds and is a compact batter. Pant is returning for 2-3 years. I remember Pant scoring a hundred in 2022 in England but plenty of players came after that. His form dipped and couldn’t quite click as a white-ball player. He is not that good in white-ball cricket averaging 33 in ODIs. Sanju Samson, on the other hand, averages 56 in ODIs.” Ad Kaif continued that Nitish Kumar Reddy has the opportunity to show his potential as a finisher in Pandya’s absence. “There is a void at number six, seven where Hardik Pandya bats. So, a player like Nitish Kumar Reddy needs to prove he can be that finisher. Ravindra Jadeja is not an ODI finisher. KL Rahul does well but cannot score as briskly as Pandya. Someone like Shivam Dube can do well. It’s good Pant is getting an opportunity but I’m surprised Samson is not there despite having a good record,” he concluded. India lost their last ODI series; hence, they will be keen to beat South Africa. × Feedback Why did you not like this content?
