Khamenei’s killing brings celebration to Iran’s streets

For over 45 years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been a brutal theocracy, ruled by an ayatollah who swept aside the freedoms that existed in Iran before the revolution.

This regime has also posed a significant threat to regional peace, maintaining the largest stockpile of missiles in the Middle East.

On Saturday, celebrations erupted in the streets following the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Elizabeth Palmer reports on the unfolding events and their implications.

Australia’s top universities say Horizon association is ‘a strategic necessity’

Despite the EU being Australia’s largest foreign research funder, granting €1. 8 billion between 2015 and 2024, the country has never been an associate member of Europe’s Framework Programmes for research and innovation. That could change if exploratory talks launched in September bear fruit. The prize for Australia’s universities was spelled out in a Horizon Europe Capability Statement released on.

6 dead in Telangana, India as Cyclone Montha triggers heavy rains and flooding

At least six people lost their lives in separate rain-related incidents after heavy rains battered various parts of Telangana on October 29. The downpour was triggered by the impact of Cyclone Montha, officials from the police and district authorities reported on Friday.

In Siddipet district, a tragic incident occurred when a husband and wife were swept away while attempting to cross an overflowing stream on a two-wheeler. Their bodies were recovered later that day, according to police sources.

In another unfortunate event, a man riding a bike in Suryapet district died when a roadside tree uprooted and fell on him. Additionally, an elderly woman lost her life due to a wall collapse in Mahabubabad district.

Officials also reported the death of a bedridden man in his mid-60s when floodwaters entered his house in Warangal.

Several other incidents have been reported where people went missing after being swept away by floodwaters.

The heavy rains on October 29 caused significant waterlogging on roads and inundation of low-lying areas across multiple locations, including Warangal, Hanamakonda, Mahabubabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, and Bhadradri Kothagudem. Authorities continue to monitor the situation as rescue and relief operations are underway.

Daddy’s No King! Donald Trump Jr. Takes Brutal Swipe at Liberals for Being ‘Old’ and ‘Fat’ While Praising Papa’s Work in the Oval Office

Oct. 29, 2025, Published 2:48 p.m. ET – Donald Trump Jr. has taken a brutal swipe at the No King’s protests and those who participated, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

Speaking to business leaders and Saudi officials at the Future Investment Initiative on October 29, Trump Jr. slammed Democratic Party policies and protesters who targeted his father, Donald Trump.

Donald Trump Jr. Insists Donald Trump Is Not a King

Addressing the No King’s protests, which drew tens of thousands of participants, Trump Jr. alleged it was “not an organic movement” and stated, “it’s entirely manufactured and paid for by the usual puppets around the world and their [groups].”

“If my father was a king, he probably wouldn’t have allowed those protests to happen,” he continued. “You saw the people that were actually protesting — it’s the same crazy liberals from the ‘60s and ’70s, they’re just a lot older and fatter.”

Donald Trump Jr. Praises His Father’s Work in Saudi Arabia

Trump Jr. then turned to praising his father, stating: “When my father came here, unlike the last presidents who visited here, it wasn’t an apology tour. It was, ‘How do we work together? How do we grow our respective economies? How do we create peace and stability in the region?’”

“There can be an ‘America-First’ component to that, but there also can be a ‘Saudi-First’ component to that and everyone can actually benefit,” he added.

Recently, Trump Jr. also addressed allegations regarding his father’s 2016 campaign colluding with Russia. “Guys, if you knew what was going on in that campaign, like we couldn’t collude to order a cheeseburger,” Trump Jr. joked. “Okay. So like, relax… slow your roll.”

Donald Trump Jr. Trolled Alyssa Farah Griffin Recently

Aside from mocking the No King’s protestors, Trump Jr. recently trolled The View‘s Alyssa Farah Griffin.

“If he does good, if he gets the Israeli hostages out, I promise I will wear a MAGA hat for one day on this show and say thank you for doing it,” Griffin had said during a January episode of The View. “You have to be able to cheer for wins when they happen and call out relentlessly the wrongdoing,” she added.

On October 13, when Trump brokered a peace deal to bring the remaining hostages home, Griffin praised it as a “tremendous, historic day” but still did not wear the MAGA hat as promised.

Trump Jr. reposted the clip on X and wrote, “Sending this to the top. Let’s go,” while reminding Griffin about her vow.

Commenters Agree with Donald Trump Jr. About Alyssa Farah Griffin Wearing the MAGA Hat

Many of Trump Jr.’s commenters expressed support for his push for Griffin to wear the MAGA hat.

“Someone needs to send a large box of MAGA hats to Alyssa in care of The View,” one user wrote, while another insisted, “She will never do it.”

“Alyssa, be sure to let us know what day you’re wearing your MAGA hat,” another commenter stated. “If you don’t have one, let us know, we’ll get several on the way to you.”

Blue Jays bounce back against Dodgers to even World Series after extra-inning marathon

The best-of-seven World Series is all even at two games apiece after the Toronto Blue Jays bounced back from Monday’s epic 18-inning marathon to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 in Game 4 on Tuesday night.

Both teams were running on fumes following the nearly seven-hour showdown, but Toronto’s offense came alive behind Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette. The Dodgers took an early lead on a sacrifice fly from Enrique Hernández, but Guerrero Jr.’s two-run homer in the third inning put the Blue Jays ahead for good.

The Blue Jays’ victory came just hours after country music star Brad Paisley declared himself “Mr. More Baseball.” Paisley performed the national anthem before the marathon Game 3, which the Dodgers won 6-5 on Freddie Freeman’s homer that ended the game nearly seven hours after Paisley’s performance.

Shohei Ohtani, one of the Dodgers’ heroes this postseason, started Game 4 for Los Angeles. He pitched six innings, allowing four earned runs and striking out six. Ohtani made history just one night earlier, becoming the first player since 1906 to record four extra-base hits in a World Series game and reaching base nine times, tying a Series record.

For the Blue Jays, Bo Bichette delivered a two-RBI single in the seventh inning to extend the lead. Shane Bieber earned the win, pitching 5⅓ innings and allowing just one run. Ohtani was charged with the loss.

After Ohtani’s exit, the Dodgers used only three relievers, while the Blue Jays relied on four pitchers in total to close out the nine-inning win.

Venezuela’s Maduro says the US is fabricating a war and seeks to revoke citizenship of opponent

CARACAS (AP) — Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro said the U.S. government is “fabricating” a war against him as the world’s biggest warship approached the South American country, while moving to revoke the citizenship of an opponent he accuses of inciting an invasion.

Maduro stated in a national broadcast on Friday night that the administration of President Donald Trump is “fabricating a new eternal war” as the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford, which can host up to 90 airplanes and attack helicopters, moves closer to Venezuela.

On Saturday, the Venezuelan president also referred to the pressure he has felt from the U.S. government as he initiated legal proceedings to revoke the citizenship and cancel the passport of opposition politician Leopoldo López.

“They promised they would never again get involved in a war and they are fabricating a war that we will avoid,” said Maduro during Friday night’s address.

Trump has accused Maduro, without providing evidence, of being the leader of the organized crime gang Tren de Aragua. “They are fabricating an extravagant narrative, a vulgar, criminal and totally fake one,” Maduro added. “Venezuela is a country that does not produce cocaine leaves.”

American forces have destroyed several boats off the Venezuelan coast, allegedly linked to drug trafficking into the United States. At least 43 people were killed in those attacks.

Tren de Aragua, which originated from a Venezuelan prison, is more known for its involvement in contract killings, extortion, and people smuggling than for playing a major role in global drug trafficking.

Maduro was widely accused of stealing last year’s election, and countries including the U.S. have called for him to step down.

Earlier, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez stated on her Telegram account that Maduro had appealed to the country’s Supreme Court of Justice to revoke López’s nationality for his “grotesque, criminal, and illegal call for a military invasion of Venezuela.”

López, a prominent Venezuelan opposition figure who has been exiled in Spain since 2020, has publicly expressed support for the deployment of U.S. ships in the Caribbean and attacks on suspected drug trafficking vessels.

The vice president said that López’s passport will be revoked “immediately,” and he is also accused of promoting “economic blockage” and “calling for the mass murder of Venezuelans in complicity with enemy and foreign governments.”

In response, López dismissed the move on his X account, stating, “According to the Constitution, no Venezuelan born in Venezuela can have their nationality revoked.” He reiterated his support for U.S. military deployment and military actions in the country.

“Maduro wants to take away my nationality for saying what all Venezuelans think and want: freedom,” López wrote. “After having stolen the 2024 election, we agree to pursue all avenues to end the dictatorship,” he added.

López spent more than three years in a military prison after participating in anti-government protests in 2014. He was sentenced to over 13 years in prison on charges of “instigation and conspiracy to commit a crime.”

He was later granted house arrest and, after being freed by a group of military personnel during a political crisis in Venezuela, left the country in 2020.
