Pacers HC Rick Carlisle’s honest reaction to stunning Warriors for first 2025-26 win

Rick Carlisle expressed immense relief after the Indiana Pacers stunned the Golden State Warriors 114-109 on Saturday night. Entering the matchup, Indiana held an 0-5 record and had been plagued by multiple injuries to their core players, with star guard Tyrese Haliburton already sidelined for the entire season. Despite these challenges, the Pacers refused to roll over against the Warriors.

Trailing for most of the game, the Pacers mounted a fierce comeback in the fourth quarter, completing a rally to secure the home victory. Reflecting on the win, Carlisle, as reported by Tyler Smith, summed up his feelings succinctly: “It feels good to win one.”

### How Rick Carlisle and the Pacers Performed Against the Warriors

Rick Carlisle is thrilled to finally put an end to the Pacers’ winless streak to start the season. Pulling off a win against a healthy Warriors squad made the triumph even sweeter.

Golden State maintained the upper hand throughout the first three quarters, leading 88-82 going into the fourth. However, the Pacers woke up in the final period, outscoring the visitors 32-21 in the last 12 minutes of the game.

Free throws and turnovers proved decisive in this matchup. Indiana excelled in both areas, converting 24 of 28 attempts at the line while limiting turnovers to 12. Meanwhile, the Warriors made 19 of 24 free throws but committed 16 turnovers, which contributed to their downfall.

Four Pacers players scored in double figures. Aaron Nesmith led the charge with an impressive stat line of 31 points, six rebounds, and one assist. He shot 10-of-19 from the field, including 5-of-11 from beyond the arc, and was perfect from the free-throw line at 6-of-6.

Pascal Siakam added 27 points and five rebounds, Quenton Jackson contributed 25 points and 10 assists, and Isaiah Jackson chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.

### Looking Ahead

The Pacers will look to build on this momentum as they remain at home for their next matchup. Indiana is set to host the Milwaukee Bucks on November 3 at 7 p.m. ET. Fans will be eager to see if the team can continue their winning ways.

Syracuse University chancellor says anti-Israel campus protests ‘encouraged’ by Iran

The chancellor of Syracuse University revealed his belief that pro-Hamas, anti-Israel protests were encouraged and potentially orchestrated by Iran while speaking on a panel this week in Washington, D.C.

Chancellor Kent Syverud spoke on a panel Tuesday alongside the chancellors from Vanderbilt and Washington University in St. Louis. He described the protest activity that took place on his college campus as well as other universities across the country.

“When things happened that I really believe were encouraged from Iran,” Syverud explained to the audience. “[The protests] did not have the involvement of very many, if any, of our own students.”

Syracuse’s top official also discussed the difficulty of holding individuals, including students, accountable because of the use of face masks or coverings intentionally used to shield identity.

“People were using masks to avoid accountability for what they were saying and doing,” Syverud added, noting that people in masks could have been “activists from elsewhere.”

Chancellor Daniel Diermeier of Vanderbilt, in Nashville, also pointed out clear coordination and the “playbook” for protests was backed by “organized networks” that could have motivated or directed students and agitators to demonstrate and disrupt campus.

“[Students] were looking at [and] were using the playbook that they had seen at Columbia and other places, and it was the same messaging. It’s more than social contagion,” Diermeier explained. “I think there are organized networks as well. And for sure we saw that.”

Washington University Chancellor Andrew D. Martin nodded in agreement.

“Many of the things that happened on our campus, including an attempted encampment, we didn’t allow it to take place and ultimately had folks arrested to shut it down on a Saturday evening,” Martin added. “Three quarters of those individuals had nothing to do with the university.”

The panel was organized by Alums for Campus Fairness, a group that gathers university alumni and serves to combat antisemitism on college campuses and across the U.S.

The protests which Syverud refers to have plagued university campuses mainly after the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel.

Columbia University faced a significant number of protests that still often occur, though just outside the campus gates as the university has changed rules that previously permitted demonstrations.

Last April, more than 100 protesters were arrested after the NYPD was forced to break up an encampment that was impacting students’ ability to navigate campus. In May, protesters occupied Butler Library on Columbia’s campus, calling it “Basel Al-Araj Popular University.” Officers were once again called to the scene and made multiple arrests. More than 70 students were expelled or suspended.

Similar protests occurred at other prominent universities such as Harvard, NYU, and UCLA.

Syracuse University did not respond to a request for comment.

DeepAgents CLI: A New Tool for Efficient Coding and Research

LangChain has announced the launch of **DeepAgents CLI**, a command-line interface designed to streamline coding, research, and the creation of agents with persistent memory. This innovative tool allows users to create and manage custom DeepAgents directly from their terminal, offering a powerful new way to boost productivity.

### Features and Capabilities

DeepAgents CLI offers a comprehensive suite of functionalities aimed at enhancing user efficiency. With this tool, users can read, write, and edit files within their projects, execute shell commands with human approval, and even search the web for up-to-date information. Additionally, DeepAgents CLI makes HTTP requests to APIs and maintains a persistent memory system, enabling it to learn and remember information across different sessions.

One of the standout features is its ability to plan tasks through visual to-do lists, making it a versatile assistant for both developers and researchers. The CLI supports models from Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI, with **Anthropic Claude Sonnet 4** set as the default model and **Tavily** being used specifically for web searches.

### Installation and Setup

Getting started with DeepAgents CLI is straightforward. Simply run the following command to install:

“`bash
pip install deepagents-cli
“`

For users employing `uv`, the equivalent command is:

“`bash
uv pip install deepagents-cli
“`

After installation, set up your API keys by adding them to the `.env` file located in your project root. This setup allows DeepAgents CLI to automatically load the necessary configurations for seamless operation.

### Getting Started with DeepAgents

Once installed, launching DeepAgents within your project directory is as simple as typing:

“`bash
deepagents
“`

Or, if you are using `uv`:

“`bash
uv run deepagents
“`

The CLI can assist with various tasks such as adding type hints to functions. It accomplishes this by reading relevant files, analyzing them, proposing changes, and then seeking your approval before applying those edits. There is also an option to auto-accept edits for a faster workflow.

### Leveraging Persistent Memory

One of DeepAgents CLI’s most powerful features is its persistent memory system. This allows it to store and recall information across sessions, using what LangChain calls the **Memory-First Protocol**. This involves:

– Checking stored memories for relevant knowledge during research
– Searching memory files when uncertainties arise before responding
– Saving new information as it is learned

This persistent memory is especially useful for maintaining consistency and efficiency in repetitive or complex tasks. For example, you can teach the agent specific API usage patterns, which it will remember and apply in future interactions, ensuring adherence to your predefined conventions.

### Managing Multiple Agents

DeepAgents CLI also supports the creation of specialized agents tailored to different projects or roles. You can list existing agents, create new ones, or reset an agent to its default state, offering great flexibility in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

### Final Thoughts

LangChain encourages users to explore the capabilities of DeepAgents CLI and contribute to its ongoing development. This tool represents a significant advancement in AI-driven project management and research, promising to enhance productivity and streamline workflows for developers and researchers alike.

Stay tuned for more updates as DeepAgents CLI continues to evolve and improve the way we work with AI assistants.
