ハマスの武装解除とイスラエル軍の撤退、さらにはトランプ氏の関与継続が今後の鍵を握る。

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni Writes About Teaching Kids Kindness And Compassion For Animals

As parents, we often focus on teaching our children how to read, write, share, and behave politely. But one of the most valuable lessons we can impart is kindness—especially towards animals and birds. This is something I have come to believe deeply over the years.

When children grow up respecting and caring for all living beings, they naturally become more compassionate, responsible, and grounded individuals. Animals and birds may not speak our language, but they communicate in their own ways. They experience hunger, pain, fear, joy, and love—just like we do.

When children learn to see animals as living beings rather than creatures existing on the sidelines of our lives, it changes how they perceive the world. They begin to notice small things—a thirsty bird, a hungry stray, or an injured puppy on the road. These moments of awareness are where empathy begins.

We have a pet dog who is not ‘just a pet’ but truly a member of our family. I often tell everyone that he’s our son—that’s how much love and space he holds in our hearts. Through him, my daughter has learned that animals respond to kindness just as humans do—with trust, affection, and loyalty.

Of course, kindness towards animals isn’t only about pets. I always remind my daughter that small acts of kindness matter—feeding the stray dogs or cats outside our building, leaving bowls of water out during the summer for birds, or simply making sure an animal in distress is helped.

These gestures may seem small, but they leave a lasting impression on young minds. They teach patience, empathy, and gentleness—qualities no textbook can impart.

I also believe that kindness towards animals naturally teaches children to value nature and the environment. When they learn that their actions can protect or harm another living being, they begin to see how everything in nature is connected.

A child who grows up caring for animals will think twice before littering, plucking flowers unnecessarily, or wasting food. That awareness shapes a more mindful way of living.

On the other hand, cruelty towards animals—even something as simple as throwing a stone at a stray or trapping a bird—chips away at empathy. It not only hurts the animal but also desensitizes children to suffering. That’s why open conversations about how animals feel and why they deserve respect are so important.

I’ve often told my daughter that a kind heart makes the world a better place—for everyone, human or otherwise. Watching her grow into someone who stops to feed a stray or smile at a passing dog makes me believe these small lessons truly matter.

After all, kindness isn’t just a value—it’s a habit. And when we teach our children to extend it beyond humans to include animals, birds, and all living beings, we’re helping them grow into better humans.

Former hostages and their families commemorate Oct. 7 in DC alongside members of Congress

Former hostages and their families gathered in Washington, DC, alongside members of Congress to commemorate the two-year anniversary of Hamas’s October 7 massacre. The event took place at the Sukkah of Hope, serving as a poignant reminder of the ongoing struggle faced by hostages and their loved ones.

Multiple White House officials joined the Hostages and Missing Families Forum inside the sukkah to advocate for the release of all 48 remaining hostages. Their presence underscored the continued commitment at the highest levels of government to securing freedom for those still held captive.

The gathering was both a solemn remembrance and a call to action, highlighting the enduring impact of the tragedy and the urgent need for resolutions.

Why the psychology of ‘utang’ matters for the economy

MANILA, Philippines – Debt or “utang” is not just a financial tool anymore. It has become the lifeline that keeps many Filipino families afloat.

With consumer spending making up about 70 percent of the economy, every peso that is spent helps keep the economy moving. When households continue to buy, businesses thrive. However, when they cut back, the effects ripple throughout the economy.

Glenside teacher, author, and mother launches book and business to highlight passion for math

Glenside resident Shameeka Browne is a mother of five, business owner, and teacher who has recently added another accomplishment to her resume: author. Browne’s new book, *Queen of 24*, tells her personal story while also highlighting her passion for math.

She hopes that her book, along with her business, Math is All Around Us LLC, will help children and their parents gain a deeper understanding of math. Through her endeavors and business, Browne aspires to open a space for teachers who want to try out new activities to teach math to their students and see if the exercises will work in the classroom.

“I see that there is a greater need for families to be empowered with how they can help their child with their math education,” she said. “The great thing about passion is it becomes contagious, but it just can’t be the passion, it also has to be the love for the young people that are sitting in front of you.”

Browne credits her love for math to one of her teachers at Wagner Middle School, Mr. Plummer, who is also featured in the book. She plans to release five more books, each focusing on the varying age groups of her five children, from preschool to college.

“I want to help families understand the roles that they have in their child’s math education,” Browne explained. “It truly does start at home, and the math that your child sees from the time that they wake up in the morning to the time that they go to bed at night — we can take advantage of that.”

During the writing and creative process, Browne faced several challenges. Uncertainty about having enough money to publish, fear that her story was not worthy of being published, and a publisher terminating their contract just two weeks before she was supposed to reveal the book cover to her family and supporters left her with feelings of inadequacy.

“I’m a math person, and it’s ironic that I put myself in the same position that I tell my students not to do,” Browne said. “When they say they are not math people, I prove to them that they are. But on the flip side, I was telling myself that I wasn’t a writer because who could be both? I can be both.”

Browne was able to find an illustrator who could adequately reflect the story she was telling: Philly native Reggie Byers, who had also done some artwork at Wagner Middle School.

“I look at the cover, and I want to cry,” Browne shared. “What was different about this illustrator was that I did not send him any pictures other than a picture of myself during that time in middle school and my family. When I tell you I saw the cover and said, ‘This looks like me.’”

Before its official release to the public, Browne sold over 200 copies of *Queen of 24*—a remarkable feat for most first-time authors. The book is currently available for purchase at [www.mathisallaroundus.org](http://www.mathisallaroundus.org).

She continues to help the next generation find their love and passion for math as a math specialist and content lead in the Lower Merion School District.

“Her passion for math is omnipresent in much of what she does and sees,” said Jameelah Hairston, a Glenside resident. “She challenges you to see how math is everywhere and present in many everyday activities and tasks.”

MTV Tragedy: ‘Teen Mom’ Star Hospitalized After Suffering Stroke… As Family Now Rallies Her Around For Support Despite Longterm Feud

Oct. 6, 2025, Published 4:47 p.m. ET

A former beloved Teen Mom 2 star was rushed to the hospital after experiencing a medical emergency, RadarOnline.com can confirm. According to reports, Jenelle Evans’ mother, Barbara Evans, was hospitalized after suffering a stroke.

Barbara Evans Had a Stroke Last Week

Insiders revealed that the stroke occurred last week. Luckily, Barbara was discharged from the hospital and is currently at home recuperating. She is expected to make a full recovery.

Jenelle, who currently resides in Las Vegas, flew to North Carolina to visit her mother and be with her family during this scary ordeal. She was unable to get there sooner due to recent sinus surgery, which prevented her from flying.

Jenelle and Barbara’s Complicated History

Jenelle and Barbara have had a tumultuous relationship over the years. In 2010, Barbara was granted legal custody of Jenelle’s oldest son, Jace, after Jenelle agreed to sign her rights over to her mom. In 2017, the custody agreement was amended to establish a specific visitation schedule, allowing Jenelle more time with Jace.

Jenelle eventually regained custody of Jace in 2023, but their relationship has experienced many ups and downs. Incidents included Jace running away from home, resulting in police involvement. In May 2025, Jenelle sent Jace to live in Florida with his father, but this arrangement was short-lived as Jace returned to Jenelle’s home in Las Vegas.

Leaked Text Messages Between Jenelle and Jace

In August, Jace leaked text messages exchanged between him and Jenelle. In these texts, Jenelle claimed he “lied” about her ex-husband, David Eason, strangling him. Jace described Jenelle as “crazy” and threatened to reveal “how Jenelle really is.” He also expressed a desire to return to North Carolina, citing that Jenelle was “really unstable.” Alongside a text of Jenelle cursing him out, he wrote, “I need to go back to NC she is just really unstable.”

Jenelle Evans’ Response to Text Message Leak

Jenelle took to Instagram Story to defend herself, writing:

“My children are my whole world. And everything I do is to try and protect, guide, and love them. Like any parent, I set rules and boundaries. And sometimes that isn’t easy.”

She described Jace’s posting of their “private texts” as “his reaction to being rightfully disciplined.”

“And while it hurts to see those moments shared publicly, I know it comes from a place of struggle,” she continued. “Navigating Jace’s medical diagnoses has not been easy, but I have never stopped fighting to make sure he has the resources, love and support he needs. I will always stand by him. No matter what challenges come our way. And I will continue to work on being the best mom I can be to all three of my kids.”

She then asked for “empathy, kindness and prayers during this time” for her, Jace, and their family as they “work through this together.”

Jenelle returned to Instagram Story to share that Jace had recently been “in trouble with the law” and was “having a hard time adjusting to the rules set before him.”

“I’ve been trying everything to help him navigate it, but we are butting heads in the process,” she concluded. “Please give us grace at this time. This is hard on all of us.”

Jenelle Was Not Speaking to Barbara Amid Custody Issues

After the text messages were made public, Jace returned to North Carolina to live with Barbara again. In August, Jenelle confirmed on Facebook that she and her mother were “not speaking right now.”

In early September, Jenelle spoke about the situation and shared some lighthearted remarks about her son. When a fan asked, “How’s my mom?” she replied, “She’s doing good. She’s in North Carolina.”

“She’s hanging in there with Jace,” Jenelle continued, laughing so hard she had to cover her mouth with her shirt sleeve. “Sorry, I laugh because it’s like, y’all don’t even know. People think it’s me, and it’s not me. It’s not me.”

Jenelle explained that she “grew up with all that yelling and screaming in my house,” adding, “Jace is going through it,” before laughing again.

Current Status

To date, Jenelle has not publicly commented on her mother’s recent health ordeal.
