**Youth Murdered and Body Attempted to Be Burned in Nanded District**

Nanded: A shocking incident unfolded in the Gadga area of Naigaon taluka, Nanded district, where 17-year-old Jishan Latif Syed was brutally murdered, and an attempt was made to burn his body. The incident came to light on October 2, coinciding with the Dussehra celebrations.

According to the complaint lodged by Jishan’s father, Latif Chandulal Syed, the Naigaon police promptly registered a case at the local police station. Demonstrating swift action, the police resolved the case within six hours of the incident, arresting the accused, Abbas Ramjaansaab Shaikh.

The motive behind the murder stemmed from Abbas’s suspicion that Jishan had illicit intentions towards his wife. Jishan and Abbas were friends, but Abbas harbored doubts that Jishan looked at his wife with malicious intent. Their strained relationship escalated following a severe quarrel during Muharram, which was initially resolved through the intervention of community elders. However, Abbas’s suspicion lingered.

On October 1, both Jishan and Abbas were seen leaving the village together on a motorcycle. Later that day, Jishan did not return home. When his family members tried to reach him by phone, his phone was switched off. Attempts to inquire about Jishan were made to Abbas, but he provided no positive response and eventually switched off his phone as well.

The police investigation relied on evidence found at the crime scene, including liquor bottles, footwear, and other items. Additionally, CCTV footage helped authorities track the suspect. Consequently, Abbas was arrested from Deglur.

The case highlights the importance of community vigilance and swift police response in ensuring justice. Further investigation is ongoing.

Mumbai: Businessman Files Police Complaint Against Kurla’s Fauziya Hospital For Alleged Negligence Toward Elderly Mother

**Businessman Files Complaint Against Kurla’s Fauziya Hospital Over Alleged Negligence**

Haji Arafat Alamgir Shaikh, a businessman, former Chairman of the Maharashtra State Minority Commission, and BJP Transport Cell President, has lodged a police complaint against Kurla’s Fauziya Hospital. The complaint accuses the hospital management and staff of gross negligence and mistreatment of his 71-year-old mother, Shama Shaikh, who was admitted for treatment.

**Background of the Case**

According to the complaint filed at VB Road Police Station, Shama Shaikh has been suffering from diabetes for five years and had previously experienced a paralysis attack. She was admitted to Fauziya Hospital on September 15 following complaints of vomiting.

**Alleged Fall Due to Safety Lapses**

On September 16, while asleep on her hospital bed, Shama Shaikh allegedly fell to the floor because the bed lacked safety railings. She sustained injuries to her face, eyes, stomach, legs, and knees. Haji Arafat claims that although a domestic aide sounded an alarm, no nurse or ward boy attended to her for nearly 20 minutes.

When the hospital staff finally did respond, the night doctor reportedly dismissed the incident saying, “These small things happen in hospitals. Shift the old woman, we’ll see in the morning.”

**Delayed Medical Attention**

Despite her injuries, Shaikh’s mother reportedly received no medical treatment for over 12 hours. No doctor attended to her until 10 a.m. the following day, by which time swelling and black marks had appeared on her face and under her eyes due to internal bleeding.

Haji Arafat further alleged that it was only after his family doctor, Sohail Khan, visited and insisted on immediate treatment that medical procedures were initiated.

**Accusations Against Hospital Staff**

The complaint names hospital director Dr. Anjum Deshmukh, administrator Usman Shaikh, and duty nurses Amisha Mali and Pratima Gupta as responsible for the negligence. Additionally, Riyaz Shaikh, a hospital staff member who arrived to conduct an X-ray 24 hours later, allegedly behaved rudely towards the elderly patient, reportedly saying in an insulting tone: “Eat later, don’t you understand? I don’t have time for this now.”

**Police Action**

Citing neglect, irresponsibility, and inhumane behavior, Haji Arafat filed a formal complaint at VB Road Police Station. Based on his statement, a case has been registered against the hospital’s directors and staff. The V. B. Marg Police have initiated further investigation into the matter.

This incident raises concerns about patient safety and the quality of care in healthcare institutions, underscoring the importance of strict adherence to medical protocols and compassionate treatment of elderly patients.

Nashik: 55,000 Indigenous Trees Planted At Saptashrungi Fort Under Jai Hind Lok Movement

Under the guidance of former minister Balasaheb Thorat and former MLC Dr. Sudhir Tambe, an impressive initiative has been undertaken to plant 55,000 indigenous trees at Saptashrungi Fort, one of the three and a half Shakti Peethas of Maharashtra. This environmental service has been offered to Saptashrungi Mata on behalf of the Jai Hind Lok Movement during the auspicious occasion of Navratri.

In collaboration with the Maharashtra Government, Nashik SMBT Sevabhavi Trust, Gram Panchayat, and Jai Hind Lok Chalaval, around 55,000 indigenous trees have been planted at the fort located in Vani. Saptashrungi Fort draws a large crowd of devotees every year, with lakhs visiting for darshan during Navratri. To enrich this hilly area with greenery and promote environmental sustainability, Jai Hind Lok Chalaval spearheaded this large-scale tree plantation drive.

The responsibility for the upkeep of these trees has been entrusted to the SMBT Sevabhavi Trust. The plantation includes a variety of species such as pipal, umber, lemon, vad, as well as medicinal plants, carefully selected to suit the local ecosystem.

The Maharashtra Government Forest Department and Jai Hind Lok Movement have coordinated the scientific planting of these trees by digging trenches on all four sides of Saptashrungi Fort. To ensure adequate water supply, drip irrigation systems have been installed. Additionally, tree guards have been appointed through charitable efforts to safeguard the young plants. The Gram Panchayat has also extended significant cooperation throughout this endeavour.

Principal Dashrath Varpe, Coordinator of the Dandakaranya Abhiyan, highlighted the involvement of local citizens in planting and maintaining the trees, stating that this collective effort will greatly enhance the greenery of the region within the next two to three years.

Dr. Sudhir Tambe, Founder and Former MLC of Jai Hind, reflected on the historical roots of this movement, saying, “Freedom fighter Sahakar Maharshi Bhausaheb Thorat initiated the Dandakaranya Abhiyan, an environmental movement dedicated to protecting the living world. Under this campaign, crores of seeds have been sown on the barren hills of Sangamner taluka, resulting in the planting of lakhs of trees and a significant increase in the area’s greenery.”

He added, “Under the leadership of former minister Balasaheb Thorat, the environmental movement has expanded from the Sahyadri to the Satpura ranges. The recent tree plantation at Saptashrungi Fort, carried out under the initiative of SMBT Sevabhavi Trust, is a testament to this continued commitment.”

This collaborative effort beautifully blends cultural reverence with ecological responsibility, ensuring that the sacred landscape of Saptashrungi remains vibrant and thriving for generations to come.
