DHS reveals Illegal alien behind fatal crash was given license by deep blue state

**Illegal Immigrant Allegedly Causes Fatal Semi-Truck Crash on Oregon Highway, Killing Two**

An illegal immigrant allegedly responsible for a fatal crash that killed two people in Oregon was reportedly issued a commercial driver’s license by California under Governor Gavin Newsom’s administration, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

In a statement released Monday, DHS identified the individual as Rajinder Kumar, an Indian national accused of criminally negligent homicide and reckless endangerment. Kumar, 32, reportedly jackknifed his semi-truck and trailer, blocking both lanes of U.S. Highway 20 around 9:30 p.m. on November 24 in Deschutes County, Oregon, according to Fox 12 Oregon.

A Subaru Outback collided with Kumar’s semi-truck, killing both the driver, William Micah Carter, and the passenger, Jennifer Lynn Lower, DHS confirmed.

The agency stated that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged a detainer for Kumar’s arrest. He is currently being held at the Deschutes County Jail pending further proceedings. DHS added that since Oregon is a sanctuary state, ICE will make all necessary efforts to apprehend Kumar should he be released from custody.

**Background and Immigration Status**

According to DHS, Rajinder Kumar entered the United States illegally near Lukeville, Arizona, in November 2022. After being released into the country by the Biden administration, Kumar was granted work authorization in 2023. He was also issued a commercial driver’s license by the state of California.

This case adds to a series of high-profile auto accidents involving illegal immigrants who obtained driver’s licenses in sanctuary states.

**Similar Incidents in Other States**

In August, another illegal immigrant and semi-truck driver, Harjinder Singh—also from India—made an illegal U-turn on the Florida Turnpike. This dangerous maneuver led to a minivan crashing into the truck, resulting in the deaths of the driver and two passengers.

ICE has also lodged an arrest detainer against Singh, who faces three counts of vehicular homicide.

Earlier in August, ICE arrested Partap Singh, a criminal illegal alien accused of causing a multi-car pileup while driving a commercial semi-truck in California. The crash left 5-year-old Dalilah Coleman with critical, life-altering injuries.

In October, ICE lodged a detainer for Jashanpreet Singh, who was implicated in a crash that killed three people in California while driving a semi-truck under the influence.

**DHS Response**

Regarding the November crash involving Rajinder Kumar, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin expressed condolences, saying, “Our prayers are with William and Jennifer’s families.”

Democrat Breaks with Party, Backs Trump Admin on Air Traffic Reductions During Shutdown [WATCH]

Democratic Rep. Greg Stanton of Arizona is siding with the Trump administration over its decision to scale back air traffic operations amid the prolonged government shutdown, which has now entered its 38th day, as reported by Fox News.

The reduction in air traffic operations is expected to increase to 10% by November 14 if lawmakers fail to reach a deal to reopen the government. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that the order was necessary to “maintain the highest standards of safety” during ongoing staffing shortages caused by the shutdown.

Among the affected airports is Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, which serves Stanton’s district and is Arizona’s largest airport.

“Safety must always be the highest priority,” Stanton said in a statement Thursday evening. “The decision by Secretary Duffy to reduce flights at America’s 40 busiest airports is the right call for the safety of the flying public,” he added in a post on X.

“Now it’s critical that Republicans and Democrats get together and reach a bipartisan agreement on a plan to reduce health costs and end the shutdown. Arizona deserves better, and so do the hardworking professionals who keep our skies safe.”

The shutdown has furloughed thousands of federal employees, while essential personnel—including air traffic controllers and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers—continue to work without pay. Many have been forced to take second jobs or call out sick, placing additional strain on the transportation system.

In Washington, where two major airports are also affected by the FAA’s order, Democratic leaders are holding firm on demands that any government funding deal include an extension of COVID-19-era enhanced Obamacare subsidies set to expire at the end of the year.

Republicans have rejected tying partisan health care provisions to the budget agreement, arguing that it would further delay reopening the government. Stanton was among the House Democrats who voted against the GOP’s funding proposal when it passed the House on September 19.

His support for the administration’s safety directive now places him at odds with his party’s leadership as bipartisan Senate negotiations continue without a clear resolution in sight.

JONATHAN TURLEY: Why blue states’ new anti-ICE laws are unconstitutional virtue signaling

Illinois has joined California and Connecticut in barring federal immigration agents from conducting “civil arrests” of undocumented immigrants in or around state courthouses. This new sanctuary law appears largely symbolic and raises serious constitutional questions.

At the core of the issue is whether a state can restrict federal jurisdiction, especially after the Civil War. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has intensified rhetoric against ICE and the Trump administration for months, making comparisons to Nazis and warning that democracy is at risk. However, the new law crosses a constitutional line by not only limiting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations but also establishing a 1,000-foot “buffer zone” around courthouses.

This law treats courthouses like churches, creating sanctuary zones where suspects can claim protection from civil arrest not only inside the building but also within 1,000 feet—unless ICE chooses to ignore the law altogether. Recently, the chief judge in Cook County issued a similar order, and some judges in other states have done the same.

### Legal Challenges and Constitutional Issues

The authority for these sanctuary orders is highly questionable. The federal government enforces laws mandating the arrest of certain individuals for immigration violations. These include mandatory detention of aliens removable due to criminal convictions or terrorism-related activities, as well as detention and removal of those with final deportation orders.

Illinois’ sanctuary law conflicts with the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution, which states:

> “This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof… shall be the supreme Law of the Land; any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.”

Additionally, the U.S. Supreme Court has consistently rejected efforts by states to interfere with federal immigration enforcement. In the 1952 case *Harisiades v. Shaughnessy*, the Court affirmed that the federal government has “exclusive” control over immigration policy.

Interestingly, former President Barack Obama once successfully challenged state laws that interfered with federal immigration enforcement. In the 2012 case *Arizona v. United States*, the Supreme Court ruled that:

> “[t]he Government of the United States has broad, undoubted power over the subject of immigration and the status of aliens.”

This federal authority dates back to the 19th century. In the 1893 case *Fong Yue Ting v. United States*, the Court held that Congress has the right to expel aliens of a particular class or allow them to remain, using all proper means to enforce the system.

### Additional Provisions and Implications

Illinois’ new law also creates the ability to sue federal authorities for false imprisonment under state law. Furthermore, the 1,000-foot buffer zone extends around any state court, effectively creating safe zones for undocumented immigrants.

This raises practical questions. For instance, could someone renting an apartment within such a zone claim effective immunity from civil arrest simply by residing there? Could suspects use public sidewalks or spaces within these zones to avoid federal enforcement?

Moreover, with states like Illinois pushing apps that track ICE operations, individuals might evade arrest by stepping into designated safe zones. It remains to be seen whether landlords will increase rents in these areas given the new “immunity” amenity.

If deemed constitutional, states could expand these safe zones beyond courthouses to include city services, clinics, and more, creating a patchwork of sanctuary areas that complicate federal enforcement.

Notably, similar tactics have been attempted by blue states to challenge Second Amendment rights, resulting in ongoing legal battles.

### Conclusion

Despite serious constitutional concerns, these sanctuary laws serve political purposes, allowing lawmakers to signal opposition to federal immigration policies. However, the legal weaknesses of the laws may lead to unintended consequences for individuals who mistakenly believe they are fully protected within these safe zones.

As legal challenges unfold, it remains uncertain how these laws will be enforced or whether courts will uphold them against federal authority.

Sydney Sweeney says she’s ‘used to’ being sexualized since her breakout ‘Euphoria’ role

Sydney Sweeney Opens Up About Being Sexualized as an Actress

Sydney Sweeney is opening up about her experience with being sexualized in Hollywood. During an October 28 appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Julia Cunningham Show,” the 28-year-old actress candidly shared how she feels about this aspect of the industry.

The conversation touched on Sweeney’s role as a pregnant nun in the upcoming 2024 horror movie *Immaculate*. The host mentioned a review that criticized her for “constantly being in a wet white shirt,” calling it “ridiculous.” Reflecting on the review, the host admitted to being surprised and asked Sweeney if she thought her role on *Euphoria* was the reason that many of her subsequent roles were viewed through the lens of sexualization.

“Yeah. I think Cassie was just such a big pop culture character with *Euphoria* and the zeitgeist of that generation,” Sweeney responded. “It was honestly the first big thing people saw me in, and I think it’s difficult for people to disassociate actors from their roles, especially a character like that.”

She explained that this inability to separate the actor from their character creates a “different kind of dynamic.” To illustrate her point, Sweeney shared that even her own brothers communicate with her using memes related to her *Euphoria* character. However, she emphasized that every role she has taken on since then has challenged viewers’ perceptions of her range, citing projects like *Reality*, *Christy*, *Americana*, and *Eden*.

“I think it’s just… there are growing pains,” she added.

Sweeney appeared alongside the cast of her latest film, *Christy*, in which she portrays the real-life professional boxer Christy Martin. Reflecting on the first major impression *Euphoria* left on audiences, she said, “It was honestly the first big thing people saw me in, and I think it’s difficult for people to disassociate actors from their roles, especially a character like that.”

At Variety’s Power of Women event on October 29, Sweeney accepted an award for her advocacy work. She dedicated the honor to Christy Martin and revealed how she connected with Martin’s story, despite not being a fighter herself.

“I know what it feels like to be underestimated, to have people define you before you’ve had a chance to define yourself. I know what it feels like to have to prove that you deserve to be here, to be seen, to be taken seriously,” Sweeney said.

She continued, “But every one of us has our own fight, and Christy reminds us all that strength doesn’t look loud sometimes, and sometimes it’s just about getting back up again and again, no matter who’s watching.”

During the event, Sweeney turned heads in a sheer silver dress that left little to the imagination. Her *Euphoria* season three co-star, Sharon Stone, praised her bold fashion choice on the red carpet, telling Variety, “It’s OK to use what mama gave you.”

Bill Maher fears Democratic Party is becoming a ‘ghost brand,’ draws comparison to Sears

You can now listen to Fox News articles!

On Friday’s episode of *Real Time*, host Bill Maher expressed concern that the Democratic Party is becoming a “ghost brand,” drawing a comparison between the party’s declining popularity and the downfall of the former department store giant, Sears.

“The cautionary tale of the ghost brand is an important one because it applies not only to business but also to politics. I fear the Democratic Party is at risk of becoming a ghost brand too,” Maher warned. “Like Sears, it used to be mighty and ascendant and popular.”

Maher described a ghost brand as “a company or a store that, like Sears, still exists, but only as a pathetic shell of its former self. The brands that make you say, ‘Oh, they’re still making that.’ Because they screwed themselves out of relevance and now their logos haunt us, wandering, neither alive nor dead like Mitch McConnell.”

Pointing to Sears’ former significance, Maher noted that at one point the company accounted for 1% of the entire U.S. economy and 41% of the country’s appliance market. However, Sears eventually faded into obscurity, leaving behind its status as an American staple. Maher expressed concern that the Democratic Party may be facing a similar fate in American politics.

“Democrats once controlled Congress and the Supreme Court, or at least competitively. But now, even at a time when President Trump is turning 250 years of democracy into jean shorts, the Democrats have their lowest rating in 35 years — 63% unfavorable,” he said. “What happened? I don’t know. What happened to Sears?”

Maher continued, “It used to be synonymous with the American dream because it kept faith with what the customer wanted. Did we love Sears? No. But that was beside the point. You just went.”

The *Real Time* host also mentioned another American ghost brand—the adult lifestyle brand Playboy. He joked that Sears was the place “who sold your father a mattress,” and Playboy magazine was what he hid under it.

According to Maher, Playboy used to be a “surefire product” until they started “messing around with the formula.” He compared this shift to the Democratic Party’s changes, saying, “Like the Democratic Party, Playboy decided they didn’t need straight men anymore. They put transgender women and gay men on the cover and, predictably, sales — like their subscribers’ penises — collapsed.”

“The staff began using terms like intersectionality, sex positivity and privileging. And in response, Playboy readers used terms like, ‘No thanks, get the f out of here, and bye-bye,’” Maher argued.

Maher closed his night of analogies by referencing Barneys, once a dominant force in American retail that later became a ghost brand. The fashion brand was forced to close its flagship Madison Avenue store after filing for bankruptcy in 2019, marking another example of a once-great retailer falling into irrelevance.

Strip club executives allegedly bribed tax auditor with lap dances and luxury trips to slash tax bills

**Strip Club Executives Allegedly Bribed New York Tax Auditor to Slash Millions in Sales Taxes, Attorney General Charges**

A group of strip club executives reportedly bribed a New York state tax auditor with cash, luxury Florida trips, and lap dances valued at thousands of dollars per day to reduce millions from their tax bills, according to a sweeping indictment filed by Attorney General Letitia James.

The 79-count indictment targets top leaders of RCI Hospitality Holdings Inc., the Texas-based parent company behind popular strip clubs Rick’s Cabaret, Vivid Cabaret, and Hoops Cabaret. Prosecutors allege the executives used their venues to disguise bribes as “promotional” expenses, thereby avoiding more than $8 million in sales taxes between 2010 and 2024.

According to the indictment, the auditor received at least 13 all-expenses-paid trips to Florida, where company leadership provided hotel accommodations, restaurant meals, and up to $5,000 per day for private dances at RCI-owned clubs.

**Defense Attorney Questions Criminal Intent and Timing**

Federal defense attorney Ronald Chapman II described the allegations as “sensational,” but suggested they may not prove criminal intent once examined in court.

“When you look a little deeper, things start to look a little bit different,” Chapman told Fox News Digital. “This case reminds me of the [President] Trump financial-fraud case, where prosecutors in New York built a sweeping narrative around business judgments that may not actually violate the law.”

Chapman emphasized that prosecutors face an uphill battle to establish a quid pro quo, i.e., that the auditor’s decisions were directly influenced by the perks received.

“It only turns into bribery when that is also done consistent with bad conduct, looking the other way on something,” he stated. “I just don’t see that other side of the quid pro quo yet.”

He also questioned the timing of the charges, highlighting the political context involving the embattled Attorney General.

“We see, once again, a very late indictment being brought. That means somebody brought this case from a pile of cases and decided to pluck it out,” Chapman explained. “Oftentimes we will see prosecutors right around the time they’re about to be facing re-election, trying to bring big cases like this with sensational headlines where they don’t really have the goods to fully handle the prosecution.”

**Attorney General Letitia James Faces Separate Federal Charges**

Letitia James herself is facing legal troubles, as she will be arraigned in Virginia on federal bank fraud charges tied to a 2020 home purchase.

James is charged with one count of bank fraud and one count of making false statements to a financial institution. Prosecutors allege she misrepresented a property purchase in Norfolk, Virginia, as a secondary residence on loan and mortgage documents, when in fact it was used as a rental investment property—qualifying her for more favorable loan terms. She has pleaded not guilty.

**Details of the Indictment**

The indictment, filed in New York County Supreme Court, names several RCI executives as defendants, including:

– Eric Langan, Chief Executive Officer
– Timothy Winata, Controller
– Bradley Chhay, Chief Financial Officer
– Ahmed “Ed” Anakar, Operations Director
– Shaun Kevlin, Nightclub Operations Director

A sixth individual has also been charged but remains unidentified due to a sealed indictment.

RCI Hospitality Holdings Inc. and its three Manhattan-based clubs—Rick’s Cabaret, Vivid Cabaret, and Hoops Cabaret and Sports Bar—are also charged. The case includes allegations of criminal tax fraud, bribery, conspiracy, and filing false business records.

If convicted of the top counts, Langan, Winata, and Anakar could each face up to 25 years in prison. Chhay and Kevlin face a maximum sentence of 15 years.

Jake Paul discusses legitimacy of Tank Davis fight, legal threats to critics, and fiancée’s Olympic hopes

Jake Paul is just two weeks away from stepping back into the ring, but once again, there’s not exactly a typical opponent waiting on the other side. On November 14, Paul is set to face Gervonta “Tank” Davis in Miami. The matchup has caught plenty of attention because Davis normally fights seven weight classes below Paul, who competes as a cruiserweight.

Although this fight is not officially sanctioned, Paul emphasized in a recent interview with Fox News Digital that “it’s the same deal. Everyone remembers that there’s a winner.”

Paul has faced criticism before for his choice of opponents, such as Mike Tyson—who is 31 years older than him—and Anderson Silva, a former UFC star nearly 22 years his senior. Additionally, some of his previous boxing opponents like Andre August and Ryan Bourland have not been widely recognized names. Now, similar skepticism has arisen regarding Davis due to the weight-class disparity.

However, Paul, who has repeatedly expressed his ambitions to become a world champion and is eligible for a WBA title fight, argued that this upcoming matchup further validates his legitimacy as a boxer.

“I think people have said, ‘Fight someone your age, fight one of the best in the world.’ This is answering both of those things in one,” he said. “And being the underdog with half the internet thinking I’m going to get killed and blah, blah, blah, and proving to people that I can box better than someone who’s been doing it their whole life. I think people will be shocked after fight night as to my skills and how I strategically came in with a game plan and I executed it.”

Paul explained that his game plan for this fight is very different from those in the past. “A lot of it’s focusing on speed, but also just high-level thinking in the sport, ring IQ, not making any mistakes. Not getting countered, not getting lazy at any moment, alertness, all of these things. The list goes on,” he said. “But I have to be the sharpest I’ve ever been for 39 minutes straight, and that’s not easy to do against someone who’s one of the pound-for-pound best.”

The unsanctioned nature of the fight has led to accusations—similar to those surrounding many of Paul’s previous bouts—that the fights are staged, fixed, or rigged in some way. Such claims escalated to the point where Paul and his business partner, Nakisa Bidarian, threatened legal action, notably against commentator Piers Morgan.

Morgan later “clarified” his comments after Paul and Bidarian announced potential lawsuits, and since then, Paul has noticed a quiet from critics.

“People haven’t been talking. And rightfully so, right?” Paul said. “Like, stop lying on my name. People can say a lot of things, but when they’re blatant lies that actually defame my brand—people saying fights are rigged, steroids, whatever it is—that’s where it goes too far.”

He continued, “So, you know, hate on the fights, don’t watch the fights, whatever, but as soon as people start lying, they’re going to get sued.”

After the fight, Paul plans to focus on his fiancée, Jutta Leerdam, who will be competing for her first Olympic gold medal in speedskating. Leerdam, 26, won a silver medal in the women’s 1,000 meters at the 2022 Beijing Olympics. The couple got engaged earlier this year, but their intense training schedules have complicated wedding planning.

Paul has even found that his own training commitments have impacted his ability to support Leerdam fully during this important time.

Saints’ rookie quarterback reveals wife’s blunt reaction after being named starter

New Orleans Saints rookie Tyler Shough is set to make the first start of his career after taking over the quarterback job from Spencer Rattler earlier this week.

On Thursday, Shough was asked about his wife’s reaction when he was named the starter. Jordan Shough, who played collegiate soccer with the Oregon Ducks, is just as competitive as Tyler.

“She’s been such a huge role in this and obviously, just up to this point, from every college, every step in the process to now, through the whole draft process,” he said. “It was a good feeling. But she’s a competitor. She played soccer. She was like, ‘Good. Good out there and win.’ She’s not really satisfied. Neither am I. There’s nothing to be excited about. It’s just another step. We gotta go out there and win. I coulda done a better job in the Bucs game.”

“Just win, baby,” may have been the mantra from the Al Davis-era Oakland Raiders, but the Saints could use some of that hard-nosed attitude to revitalize their season.

New Orleans is currently 1-7 this season, their first under head coach Kellen Moore. The team hasn’t received strong quarterback play from Spencer Rattler, which led to Shough getting the chance as the league approaches the halfway point.

The Saints selected Shough in the second round of the draft. He has played at Oregon, Texas Tech, and Louisville, and was one of the oldest rookies in the class, entering the draft at age 25.

So far this season, Shough has appeared in two games, getting most of his playing time against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week. In that game, he completed 17 of 30 passes for 128 yards and threw one interception.

Stay tuned as Shough steps into the starting role and look for more updates on the Saints’ season.

Oregon child attacked by coyote during game of hide-and-seek in backyard, state officials sound alarm

A 9-year-old child in Oregon was bitten by a coyote while playing hide-and-seek in a Portland neighborhood, prompting state wildlife officials to warn parents to closely supervise children outdoors and to scare off any coyotes that appear.

According to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW), the incident occurred Thursday evening around 6:15 p.m. in Portland’s Alameda neighborhood. Two children, ages 9 and 3, were playing outside when a coyote approached the older child and grabbed their foot. The child, who was wearing socks but no shoes, managed to shake free and run away while the coyote gave chase.

The child’s father shouted from the porch, causing the animal to flee. The 9-year-old was taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries.

In response, ODFW staff immediately launched an investigation, canvassed the neighborhood, and posted flyers warning residents. Officials have continued to monitor the area and are working with city, state, and federal partners to determine appropriate next steps.

Residents are urged to supervise young children, keep pets leashed or indoors, remove food attractants such as garbage and pet food, and use loud noises or thrown objects to scare away bold coyotes.

“Under no circumstances should people provide food to coyotes or other predators,” ODFW emphasized. “Feeding by humans is frequently associated with attacks and aggressive behavior.”

Coyotes are common throughout Oregon, including in Portland neighborhoods, and typically feed on rodents, fruit, and nuts.

For more information and safety tips, residents are encouraged to stay informed and cautious when spending time outdoors.

Blue Jays bounce back against Dodgers to even World Series after extra-inning marathon

The best-of-seven World Series is all even at two games apiece after the Toronto Blue Jays bounced back from Monday’s epic 18-inning marathon to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 in Game 4 on Tuesday night.

Both teams were running on fumes following the nearly seven-hour showdown, but Toronto’s offense came alive behind Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette. The Dodgers took an early lead on a sacrifice fly from Enrique Hernández, but Guerrero Jr.’s two-run homer in the third inning put the Blue Jays ahead for good.

The Blue Jays’ victory came just hours after country music star Brad Paisley declared himself “Mr. More Baseball.” Paisley performed the national anthem before the marathon Game 3, which the Dodgers won 6-5 on Freddie Freeman’s homer that ended the game nearly seven hours after Paisley’s performance.

Shohei Ohtani, one of the Dodgers’ heroes this postseason, started Game 4 for Los Angeles. He pitched six innings, allowing four earned runs and striking out six. Ohtani made history just one night earlier, becoming the first player since 1906 to record four extra-base hits in a World Series game and reaching base nine times, tying a Series record.

For the Blue Jays, Bo Bichette delivered a two-RBI single in the seventh inning to extend the lead. Shane Bieber earned the win, pitching 5⅓ innings and allowing just one run. Ohtani was charged with the loss.

After Ohtani’s exit, the Dodgers used only three relievers, while the Blue Jays relied on four pitchers in total to close out the nine-inning win.
