Operation Uplabdh: Western Railway RPF Nabs 43-Year-Old In Mira Road For E-Ticket Touting

**RPF Western Railways Mumbai Central Division Busts Unauthorized E-Ticket Touting Operation in Mira Road**

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Western Railways Mumbai Central division conducted a successful raid on Monday under Operation Uplabdh, targeting an unauthorized e-ticket tout operating out of Mira Road (East), near Mumbai. The drive was carried out by the RPF Post at Bhayandar (BYR) under the supervision of the Mumbai Central (MMCT WR) division.

**Unauthorized E-Ticket Seller Identified**

The accused has been identified as Ashley Lawrence Chettiar, aged 43, operating from Room No. 409, Tower-2, North Imperiya, Vinay Nagar, Mira Road (E), Thane District. Investigations revealed that Chettiar is not an authorized IRCTC agent but was actively involved in the illegal sale of railway e-tickets, violating provisions of the Railway Act.

**Seizures During the Raid**

During the raid, the RPF seized several items linked to the illegal e-ticketing activities. These included:

– One old mobile handset suspected to have been used for unauthorized transactions.
– Screenshots of QR codes related to IRCTC e-ticketing, serving as digital evidence of booked or shared tickets.
– An A4 sheet containing detailed information about multiple ticket bookings.
– Two personal IRCTC user IDs — ashley0582 and sofiya2588 — used in ticket transactions.
– One live e-ticket valued at Rs 10,013.
– Six previously used e-tickets with a combined value of Rs 16,290.

In total, tickets worth Rs 26,303 were recovered, highlighting the scale of the unauthorized ticketing operation.

**Modus Operandi**

According to RPF sources, Chettiar was booking railway e-tickets using personal IRCTC user IDs and selling them to passengers at a premium of Rs 50 to Rs 100 per passenger. While no illegal software or ticketing bots were used, the commercial use of personal user IDs is strictly prohibited under IRCTC norms and Indian Railways regulations.

**Legal Action Taken**

A case has been registered under Section 143(1) of the Indian Railways Act, which pertains to the unauthorized business of procuring and supplying railway tickets. The case number is 3682/2025, dated 29 September 2025.

Bhopal Rural Police Hold Mock Drills To Control ‘Farmers’ Protest’

**Bhopal Rural Police Conduct Mock Drills to Ensure Festival Preparedness**

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a proactive move ahead of the upcoming festival season, the Bhopal Rural Police organized mock drills on Sunday in Itkhedi and Berasia areas to enhance preparedness and coordination.

The exercises were conducted under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ramsharan Prajapati and the guidance of Additional SP Neeraj Chaurasia.

At the Acharpura outpost within the Itkhedi police station jurisdiction, the drill simulated a farmers’ protest demanding higher compensation for crop loss caused by heavy rains. During the simulation, protesters raised slogans against the government. Despite efforts by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) to pacify the crowd, tensions escalated, leading to police intervention.

The drill showcased various crowd control measures including tear gas deployment, baton charges, and controlled firing. Two protesters and two policemen were reportedly injured during the exercise and were immediately provided medical aid via ambulance. Following the intervention, the police successfully dispersed the crowd and restored order.

Simultaneously, another mock drill was held at the Berasia police station premises, overseen by the Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP), Berasia, Sarvapriya Sinha, with active participation from local police station in-charges.

In total, 118 police officers and personnel took part in these drills, aiming to strengthen their readiness and ensure effective security management during the festive period.

Women practising garba abducted by armed group in MP`s Mandsaur; 7 held

At around 9:30 pm on Saturday, several unidentified men and women entered Bhavsar Dharamshala within Kotwali police station limits, brandishing illegal weapons and forcibly abducted a woman by dragging her into a four-wheeler, an official confirmed.

Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar Meena stated that the abduction was carried out by the woman’s relatives, according to reports from IANS. Kotwali station in-charge Pushpendra Singh Rathore identified the arrested individuals as Ramchandra; Manisha, also known as Bunty; Kamlesh, also known as Ghota; Fakirachand; Shambhulal; Shyamabai—all residents of Chachawada Sathiya under Garoth Police Station—and Dinesh from Bhunki Hatunia.

A case has been registered under charges relating to kidnapping, the Arms Act, and other relevant sections. Officials have confirmed that further investigation is ongoing.

The woman was participating in a Navratri celebration alongside other women and young girls when four men and two women suddenly arrived at the venue. Without warning, they grabbed her and began forcibly dragging her away. A young woman who tried to intervene was pushed aside. One of the accused brandished a pistol-like object, causing panic among attendees.

Video footage captured the chaos, showing people fleeing in fear as the woman was taken away, said Kotwali police station in-charge Pushpendra Singh Rathore, according to the IANS report.

Upon receiving the alert, police quickly responded and imposed a district-wide blockade. Within two hours, Kotwali police traced and apprehended all seven accused and safely recovered the abducted woman. The vehicle involved in the abduction and the pistol—which was later confirmed to be a toy—were also seized, police added.

According to the woman’s statement, she had previously been married but left her husband due to repeated physical abuse and had filed for divorce. For the past four months, she had been living with a young man named Yash in Khanpura. Her family and in-laws, reportedly angered by this relationship, orchestrated the abduction to bring her back home.

Local residents have expressed outrage over the incident, especially given its timing during a significant cultural celebration. The event has reignited discussions on personal freedom, family pressure, and the urgent need for stronger protections for women in both private and public spaces.

Pune RTO Parking Turns Liquor Den As Alcohol Bottles & Cigarette Packets Shock Citizens (PHOTOS & VIDEOS)

**Pune RTO Parking Area Found Littered with Alcohol Bottles, Raising Concerns Over Official Negligence**

In a shocking revelation, residents discovered the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) parking area and its corners strewn with empty alcohol bottles on Friday. This alarming situation has raised serious questions about the functioning and oversight of officials at the government office.

The RTO premises were not only littered with alcohol bottles but also cigarette packets and other waste, leading citizens to question whether the location was a government office or a liquor shop.

An anonymous RTO employee revealed that some agents regularly consume alcohol and even narcotics within the parking area. Furthermore, due to a lack of adequate security and CCTV surveillance, some outsiders reportedly visit the premises to carry out illegal activities.

Rakesh Pandurang, a regular visitor to the RTO, told the Free Press Journal, “This is the condition of a government building; what message is being sent to the public?”

The presence of alcohol bottles inside a government facility raises serious doubts about the vigilance exercised by senior officials. Residents are left wondering if the authorities are unaware of these happenings or if such misconduct is occurring with their tacit approval.

Responding to the issue, Swapnil Bhosale, Deputy Regional Transport Officer, said to the Free Press Journal, “We have submitted written applications to senior officials requesting security staff, but the sanction is still pending. However, we will now file a written complaint with the police to investigate the matter. RTO staff will also conduct checks and take the necessary action.”

The situation highlights an urgent need for increased security measures and stricter monitoring to restore order and public trust within the Pune RTO premises.
